Thompson First Group is currently seeking a qualified Maintenance Technician for a local client in Spring Grove, PA. Candidates with a background in industrial maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair are encouraged to apply.

Job Description

Under the direction of the Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor, this position requires skills in all facets of Industrial Maintenance Mechanical Operations. This includes, but is not limited to, experience with hydraulic systems, pumps, bearing replacements, alignment procedures, rigging, and pipefitting. The technician will perform maintenance and repair duties such as measurements, layouts, fabrication, installations, and repairs, exemplifying the client's core values of Safety and Excellence.

This is a Mechanical Multicraft position.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Adhere to safety standards and promote a safe working environment by attending all training and safety meetings, and addressing safety concerns.
  • Follow safe practices, wear protective equipment, and work safely on overhead tasks, high-pressure steam lines (up to 900 lbs.), and hazardous chemical lines according to safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
  • Complete Level 1 training and meet required benchmarks.
  • Perform preventative maintenance following precision standards, ensuring instructions are followed and steps are executed correctly.
  • Work independently on routine assignments using drawings, sketches, instructions, and established procedures.
  • Plan work details on routine tasks following safety standards and mill guidelines.
  • Provide documentation, time confirmations, and feedback upon job completion.
  • Assist Level 1-3 Maintenance Technicians with installations or repairs, help train apprentices, and support other crafts as needed.
  • Participate in the client Industrial Fire Team to mitigate fire risks and provide craft assistance.
  • Refer complex problems to higher-level mechanics or supervisors when repairs cannot be completed independently.
  • Complete crew assignments based on job and skill requirements, ensuring safety and efficiency.

Qualifications

  • Associate's Degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school in a related field, along with 1 year of related experience and training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience totaling 4 years.
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, instructions, and manuals; write routine reports; and speak effectively before groups.
  • Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division, as well as calculating rates, ratios, and interpreting graphs.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and interpret technical instructions and diagrams, managing multiple variables.
