Job summary

Philip Morris USA is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic for our Richmond, VA manufacturing center. Start wage is $44.00 per hour, with potential to reach $51.76 after 120 days and shift differentials of $0.40 (B-shift) or $0.48 (C-shift). You will repair, maintain, and troubleshoot equipment, read schematics, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve operations and reliability.

Qualifications

• Must have at least 5 years journeyman experience in one or more of Millwright, Machinist, Certified Welder.
• High school diploma or GED plus completion of an apprentice program or equivalent military experience.
• Willingness to work any shift and overtime, weekends, and holidays; regular attendance required.

Responsibilities

• Repairing machinery and equipment.
• Troubleshooting equipment malfunctions.
• Working with hand and power tools.
• Reading machine schematics or parts prints.
• Rebuilding subassemblies and components (e.g., pumps).

Your job duties/responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

• Repairing machinery and equipment
• Troubleshooting equipment malfunctions
• Working with hand and power tools
• Working with measuring and alignment tools
• Rebuilding various machinery subassemblies and components, such as pumps
• Identifying and replacing faulty work parts
• Performing routine preventive maintenance
• Reading machine schematics or parts prints
• Reading machine and/or procedures manuals
• Participating in cross-functional teams to identify opportunities and implement solutions

Compensation:

The starting wage for this position is $44.00 per hour with the opportunity to earn $51.76 an hour after 120 days. You will be eligible for a shift differential payment of $0.40 per hour for working B-shift and $0.48 per hour working C-shift. Also, additional compensation may be available to you through our manufacturing incentive program.

Required Qualifications:

• Be at least 18 years of age, legally eligible to work in the U.S. and for Philip Morris USA
• Be willing to work on any shift and to work overtime, weekends, and holidays
• Possess a minimum of 5 years of experience working at a Journeyman level in one or more of the following trades or crafts: Millwright, Machinist, Certified Welder
• Have a high school diploma or general education degree (GED) as well as completion of a recognized apprentice program or equivalent military experience
• Regular, reliable, and predictable attendance
• Passion and willingness to learn and grow
