Job summary

DICK’S Sporting Goods Distribution Center in Portland, ME is seeking a Maintenance Technician to maintain and repair facility equipment and conveyance systems. The role requires troubleshooting, PM adherence, and strict safety practices in a fast-paced DC environment.

Shift: 2B, Tue–Fri 5:30p–3:30a, with pay of $29.55/hr plus a $1/hr shift differential; the starting rate may vary by location and experience. Targeted pay range is $29.55–$42.90 per hour; benefits are offered where applicable.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or 2-year technical certificate in mechanical or electrical applications.
• 3–5 years of maintenance experience in a DC or similar setting.
• Experience with welding, burning, and cutting.
• Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, gear boxes and PLC controls.
• Able to read electrical/mechanical drawings and schematics.
• Good safety awareness; ability to lift up to 75 lbs; experience with LOTO.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to all safety requirements including OSHA standards with regards to LOTO and safe work practices.
• Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair equipment related to the facility and conveyance systems; follow PM standards and document work performed.
• Assist in teammate development by training junior technicians to elevate performance.
• Work closely with outside vendors to complete projects within the DCs safely and timely.
• Take on other duties as needed to support the DC and its operational needs.

OVERVIEW

Job Duties and Responsibilities

• Adhere to all safety requirements including OSHA standards with regards to LOTO and safe work practices.
• Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair all equipment related to the facility and conveyance systems within the facility. Follow PM standards and document work performed for accurate record keeping in our asset management system. Areas of expertise must include PLC’s, conveyors, 3 phase electric, hydraulics, pneumatics, plumbing, and any other related equipment.
• Accurately report spare parts inventory levels and daily parts usage to Maintenance leadership to help ensure spare parts inventory is maintained.
• Assist in teammate development by training junior technicians in order to elevate their performance level while troubleshooting and repairing any related assets.
• Work closely with outside vendors in order to complete projects within the DCs in a safe and timely manor.
• Take on other duties as needed to support the DC and it’s operational needs

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree - 2 year vocational technical certificate or degree preferably in a mechanical or electrical application
• 3-5 years of experience
• Welding, burning, cutting
• Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, gear boxes & PLC controls
• Familiar with DC-specific specialized software packages (ex. Crown PM, Gage) & equipment
• Able to read & understand electrical mechanical building type drawings/schematics
• Good safety awareness
• Ability to stand, bend, stoop, reach, push, pull & lift up to 75 lbs.
• Experience with LOTO
