Job summary

Amtec Staffing seeks an experienced Maintenance Mechanic to support maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of machinery and facility equipment on the manufacturing floor.

You will perform preventive maintenance on CNC machines, read technical manuals and schematics, and document activities. This role requires hands-on skills, good problem-solving, and English communication on a manufacturing team.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of mechanical maintenance experience in a manufacturing/industrial setting.
• High school diploma or equivalent; technical training in mechanical maintenance is a plus.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with troubleshooting skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily maintenance support to the manufacturing floor.
• Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on CNC machines and production equipment.
• Clean and maintain CNC coolant tanks to extend machine life.
• Diagnose and repair assembly and deburring equipment.
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical systems throughout the facility.
• Perform basic plumbing repairs (leaks, drains, fixtures).
• Support facility maintenance including lighting and general repairs.
• Use hand/power tools and diagnostic equipment to identify issues.
• Read and interpret manuals, blueprints, schematics, and equipment docs.
• Document maintenance activities in basic computer systems.

What You’ll Do

• Provide daily maintenance support to the manufacturing floor.
• Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on CNC machines and other production equipment.
• Clean and maintain CNC coolant tanks to help prevent equipment issues and extend machine life.
• Diagnose and repair assembly and deburring equipment.
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical systems throughout the facility.

• Support Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) activities and help maintain a safe workplace.
• Document maintenance activities and repairs using basic computer systems.

What We’re Looking For

• 3–5 years of mechanical maintenance experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or similar environment.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training or certification in mechanical maintenance is a plus.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, HVAC, and plumbing systems.
• Experience maintaining CNC machinery or manufacturing equipment.
• Ability to read technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
• Comfortable using hand and power tools and diagnostic equipment.
• Basic computer skills for maintenance documentation.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with a production team.
• Ability to communicate effectively in spoken and written English.
• Must meet any applicable U.S. government export-control authorization requirements.

Physical Requirements

This is a hands‑on manufacturing position. Candidates should be comfortable with:

• Lifting and moving heavy equipment or materials.
• Standing and walking for extended periods.
• Working around manufacturing machinery.
• Working at heights and in confined spaces when required.
• Working in a variety of shop and facility conditions.
