Position: Maintenance Mechanic

Location: Muskegon, MI

POSITION SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE

Perform a variety of preventive, routine, and emergency tasks for the upkeep and sustaining of plant machinery and infrastructure used to produce high-performance pigments. Support a 24/7 production facility to meet customer demands.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Complete millwright activities including construction, installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and refitting of stationary industrial machinery, mechanical and hydraulic equipment according to manufacturer's instructions and specifications.
• Experience with pumps, piping, and gear box rebuilds.
• Sheet metal and construction fabrication work, including cutting, welding, and forming of sheet metal, metal bars, and stock to design specifications.
• Perform plumbing and pipefitting, including cutting, welding of pipes, and installation of valving and gasketing.
• Refrigeration maintenance activities, including operation, installation, troubleshooting, repair, and refitting of ammonia compressors and ice making/delivery systems.
• Complete preventive maintenance activities such as lubrication, visual inspections, and functional checks; perform repairs and adjustments.
• Work on steam systems, including operation of boilers, troubleshooting, and replacement of steam traps, pipework, condensate pumps, and related systems.
• Lift, push, and pull at least 50 pounds.
• Adhere to all safety and work procedures.
• Be respirator qualified.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• High School Diploma/equivalent preferred or pass a pre-employment screening assessment.
• May require passing written and hands-on testing.
• 3-5 years' maintenance experience with industrial machinery, mechanical, and hydraulic equipment.
• Experience with pumps, piping, and gear box rebuilds.

Starting at $31.85 and above, based on experience.

POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK:

• Full-time position
• 12-hour day or night shift - 4 days on, 4 days off
