Job summary

Mativ, a global leader in specialty materials, is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic at our Minneapolis plant. The role involves performing preventive and corrective maintenance on mechanical systems, reading blueprints, and ensuring safety and quality in daily operations.

Qualified candidates will have an Associate's degree or technical training with 3+ years of related experience, plus certifications in fabrication, machining, welding, hydraulics, and more.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or technical training with 3+ years related experience.
• Certifications preferred in sheet metal fabrication, machining, welding, blueprint reading, rigging, and hydraulics/pneumatics.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and mechanical drawings.
• Strong problem-solving, attention to detail, and safety-oriented mindset.

Responsibilities

• Follow all company policies to ensure safety, quality, and efficient operations.
• Observe equipment in operation to locate trouble and test performance.
• Dismantle devices to access and replace defective parts.
• Examine parts for dimensional accuracy and imperfections.
• Inspect used parts to verify changes in dimensions.
• Adjust functional parts and control instruments.
• Repair or replace defective parts; lubricate and clean parts.
• Install functional and structural parts in devices.
• Set up and operate lathes, drill presses, grinders to make/repair parts.
• Initiate purchase orders for parts and machines; repair electrical equipment.

Maintenance Mechanic

Mativ is a global leader in specialty materials headquartered in Alpharetta, Georgia. The Company offers a wide range of critical components and engineered solutions that connect, protect, and purify our world.

We currently have exciting career opportunities available for Maintenance Mechanics at our high-profile Minneapolis, MN union plant location.

The work schedule is Monday-Friday (7:00am-3:00pm). Required to be on-call a minimum of one week per month.

Primary Responsibilities

• Follow all company established methods, policies, rules, practices, and procedures to ensure employee safety, product quality and efficient operations.
• Observe mechanical devices in operation, listen to their sounds to locate causes of trouble and start devices to test their performance.
• Dismantles devices to gain access to and remove defective parts.
• Examines form and texture of parts to detect imperfections.
• Inspects used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements.
• Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments.
• Repairs or replaces defective parts and lubricates and cleans parts.
• Installs special functional and structural parts in devices.
• Sets up and operates lathe, drill press, grinder, and other metalworking tools to make and repair parts.
• Initiates purchase orders for parts and machines.
• Repairs electrical equipment.

Education/Certifications

Associate's degree from a college, university, or technical school; 3+ years related experience and/or training; recent technical school graduates with required certifications are encouraged to apply.
