Maintenance Mechanic

Primary Responsibilities

1. As the Maintenance Mechanic, the qualified individual must have experience working on mechanical equipment by completing repairs on pumps, gaskets, valves, mechanical seals, agitators, motors, conveyor systems, and production machines.
2. Identify all tools required for tasks and identify safety risks and the precautions required to eliminate those risks.
3. Must be familiar with precision tolerances and using micrometers, indicators (laser alignment certified a plus); changing spherical roller bearings.
4. Must have knowledge in pipefitting, boiler making, ironworking, and torch use; welding certification a plus.
5. Must be capable of basic computer use.
6. Must be a team player and possess a positive attitude.
7. Minor valve maintenance and repair.
8. Test piping systems.
9. Oxygen and acetylene cutting.
10. Basic rigging.
11. Operation of pneumatic and electric tools.
12. Must have knowledge of towers/columns, exchangers.
13. Identify materials and layout on trays; install valves, trays, and strainers; introduction to piping systems; pipefitting; manually cut pipe; and basic rigging.
14. Additional responsibilities not listed may be required.

Qualifications

1. Minimum of 5 years’ experience in an industrial maintenance environment.
2. NCCER Certification may be required in one or more craft disciplines.
