Job summary

Darling Ingredients is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic to perform preventive and corrective maintenance in our rendering plant under supervision. You will handle electrical and mechanical systems, fabricating, welding, and troubleshooting to keep equipment in top condition.

The role requires 2+ years in industrial maintenance, ability to work nights/weekends, and adherence to safety rules. You will join a team focused on reliability and quality in a demanding facility.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Minimum 2 years of industrial maintenance experience.
• Ability to work nights and weekends / on-call.

Responsibilities

• Performs all phases of maintenance, including electrical and mechanical systems (i.e. fabricating, welding troubleshooting, repairing, installing, and performing required preventative maintenance).
• Maintains all equipment in good working condition.
• Able to perform routine services and troubleshoot and repair rendering equipment.
• Maintains clean, neat, and orderly work area at all times.
• Assists personnel on special fabrication and construction projects.
• Performs machine repair and installation such as replacing motors, rebuilding gear boxes, run threaded piping, run weld piping, replace belting, replace bearings, welds and uses cutting torch.
• Conducts daily greasing and oiling of plant equipment as needed.
• Diagnoses and replaces equipment parts with little or no direction.
• Communicates well with operators and management.
• Responsible for using assigned personal protective equipment and required safety equipment; responsible for being familiar with and observing all Company safety rules and regulations.
• Attends regularly scheduled safety meetings and may be asked to serve on Safety Committee.
• All other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.


• Minimum 2 years of Industrial Maintenance experience

Physical Demands

• Frequently required to push, pull, move, or lift up to 50 lbs.


• Frequently required to walk, stand, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crawl, and crouch.


• Regularly required reach with hands and arms.


• May need to work nights and weekends; available "on call" as needed.

Work Environment

• Job functions will be carried out in a rendering facility which requires tolerance for wet and or slippery floors and high heat or cold temperatures.
