Job summary

McLaren Health Care is seeking a skilled building maintenance technician to repair, install, adjust, monitor and maintain hospital HVAC/R, plumbing and electrical systems. You will perform preventative maintenance and timely repairs on equipment to meet quality standards and code requirements.

Under general supervision, you will complete work orders, interpret technician drawings and specifications, and keep thorough records in compliance with Joint Commission and other regulatory bodies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Three years of related experience.
• Valid state driver’s license.
• Driving record must be within the insurance company’s regulations.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoots electrical, electronic (including analog and digital), pneumatic, and mechanical equipment and systems.
• Performs operation and preventive maintenance on equipment and systems, including electrical, electronic, pneumatic, mechanical; various preventive maintenance intervals dictated by monitored failure rate.
• Performs simple, as well as complete repairs of equipment and systems, as appropriate.
• Researches, interprets and applies local, as well as manufacturers’ technical data; reads and interprets engineering drawings and specifications.
• Maintains appropriate work records for compliance with requirements imposed by such entities as: Joint Commission on Accreditation of Health Care Organizations, State-wide Health Care Planning and Development Office, and National Fire Protection Agency.
• Completes work orders, records material utilized on jobs and other required documentation.
• May also perform general maintenance and repair tasks as required.
• Performs other related duties as required and directed.
