Job summary

McLaren is seeking a skilled maintenance technician (per diem) to repair, install, adjust, monitor and maintain hospital building HVAC/R, plumbing and electrical systems at our Lansing campus. You will perform maintenance per manufacturer specs, ensure compliance with Joint Commission and NFPA, and document work orders and materials.

The role requires a high school diploma, 3 years of related experience, and a valid Michigan driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.

Qualifications

• Troubleshoot electrical, electronic, pneumatic, and mechanical equipment.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on building systems.
• Repair and adjust equipment and systems as needed.
• Interpret manufacturer data, drawings, and specifications.
• Complete work orders and document materials used.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot electrical, electronic (analog and digital), pneumatic, and mechanical equipment and systems.
• Performs operator and preventive maintenance on equipment and systems as specified by manufacturers.
• Performs simple or complete repairs of equipment and systems as appropriate.
• Researches, interprets local and manufacturer data; reads engineering drawings and specs.
• Maintains records for compliance with Joint Commission, State offices, NFPA.

Job description

Under general supervision, repairs, installs, adjusts, monitors, and maintains building HVAC/R, plumbing and electrical systems and performs skilled maintenance and repair tasks of the hospital building systems. Performs work to conform to quality standards and municipal codes.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

• Trouble shoots electrical, electronic (including analog and digital), pneumatic, and mechanical equipment and systems
• Performs operator and preventive maintenance, as specified by manufacturers, on equipment and systems including electrical, electronic, pneumatic, mechanical; varies preventive maintenance interval as dictated by monitored failure rate.
• Performs simple, as well as complete repairs of equipment and systems, as appropriate.
• Researches, interprets and applies local, as well as manufacturers’ technical data; reads and interprets engineering drawings and specifications.
• Maintains appropriate work records for compliance with requirements imposed by entities such as: The Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations, State-wide Healthcare Planning and Development Office, and National Fire Protection Agency.
• Completes work orders, record material utilized on jobs and other required documentation.
• May also perform general maintenance and repair tasks as required.
• Performs other related duties as required and directed.

Required
