Job summary

McLaren in Flint, MI is seeking a full-time Maintenance Technician to repair, install, and maintain hospital building HVAC/R, plumbing and electrical systems. You will work under the direction of the Maintenance Manager to ensure reliable operation of critical systems.

The role requires 2 years of hospital-related maintenance or 5 years general building maintenance, plus a valid Michigan Operator’s license and insurance approval to drive hospital vehicles. On-call and weekend shifts may apply.

Position Summary:

Under the general direction of the Maintenance Manager repairs, installs, adjusts, monitors, and maintains building HVAC/R, plumbing and electrical systems and performs skilled maintenance and repair tasks of the hospital building systems.

Required:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Two years of hospital related building systems maintenance experience or five years of general building system maintenance experience.
• Must possess valid State of Michigan Operator’s license
• Must meet approval by insurance carrier to drive hospital vehicles

Preferred:

• 4th class power engineering certification from NIULPE (National Institute for the Uniform Licensing of Power Engineers, Inc.) or has Third Class Stationary Engineer, licensed/registered by the State of Michigan
• Certification as a Health Care Mechanic or Health Care Engineer, as accredited by MECH or the Healthcare Facilities Alliance or similar agency.
• Previous experience in HVAC/R systems maintenance in a health care setting.
• Previous experience working alone, without assistance.
