Job summary

Mutual Materials is seeking a skilled Maintenance Mechanic to inspect, install, repair, and rebuild a wide range of plant equipment. You will read manuals, drawings, and work orders to keep machinery running safely and efficiently.

Ideal candidates have two years of industrial mechanical experience, familiarity with pneumatics/hydraulics, and experience with production machinery. Strong communication and teamwork are essential in our fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two years mechanical experience in an industrial setting.
• Experience with pneumatics, hydraulics, pumps, conveyors, and motors preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and manuals.
• Familiarity with Allen Bradley PLCs is a plus.
• Lean/continuous improvement mindset preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled and unplanned maintenance on production equipment.
• Conduct preventive maintenance and inspections of machines and systems.
• Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical issues; implement fixes.
• Safely operate hoists, lift trucks, and power tools; wear PPE at all times.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and participate in lean initiatives.

The ideal candidate will be able to read and interpret equipment manuals, technical drawings, and work orders to ensure the safe and efficient operation of all machinery.Key Responsibilities:Perform scheduled and emergency maintenance on production equipment.Conduct preventive maintenance and routine checks on machinery, including pneumatics, hydraulics, conveyors, pumps, fillers, agitators, and motors.Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical issues.Use hoists, lift trucks, hand tools, and power tools safely and effectively.Adhere to all safety protocols and wear appropriate PPE for each task.Maintain accurate maintenance records and support continuous improvement initiatives.Experience with Allen Bradley CompactLogix and SLC 500 systems is a plus.QualificationsMust be able to disassemble and rebuild multiple types of equipment.Working with mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics and welding (Wire Feed & Rod), as well as Oxygen/ Acetylene, and Plasma Cutting.Strong work ethic, excellent communication skills, and positive team attitude.Ability to detect, isolate, and identify irregularities and malfunctions in machinery and equipment.Willingness to work around large manufacturing equipment and furnaces, as well as operate heavy equipment as necessary.Ability to read blueprints.Effectively handle multiple priorities with minimum supervision.Support LEAN implementation and actively engage in lean activitiesWilling and able to work varying shifts (on-call), including but not limited to: weekends, nights, and/or overtime as required. This is a full-time position.Experience & EducationThe qualified candidate must have a minimum of two years previous mechanical experience working in an industrial setting or within a manufacturing field. Strong preference will be given to those with demonstrated capabilities in working with pneumatics, production machines, hydraulics, and pumps.
