ANTICIPATED OPENING

Work Year: Twelve (12) Months

Effective Date of Employment: As soon as possible

Organizational Relationship or Line of Authority: Directly responsible to the Director of Facilities and/or his/her designee in all matters pertaining to the building. Responsible to the Superintendent of Schools for all other matters.

Statement of Duties

1. Perform a broad range of general maintenance activities including, but not limited to, replacement of BCT, carpet tiles, ceiling tiles / grid work, window or sash.
2. Provide general carpentry services such as installing slabs into existing frames, minor remodeling, and renovation work.
3. Perform preventative routine maintenance activities.
4. Maintain repair and maintenance records of all work performed.
5. Maintain inventory of equipment and supplies.
6. Attend seminars and workshops to stay informed of current practices and procedures in plant and equipment maintenance.
7. Abide by all transportation laws and maintain a safe driving record.
8. Perform any other duties as directed by the Director of Facilities, Superintendent of Schools, or their designee, in accordance with policies of the Haverhill School Committee.
9. Report to work during off hours as needed for routine tasks, snow management, or building emergencies as determined by the Director of Facilities.
10. Maintain a safe and clean work environment and comply with all health and safety regulations.

Qualifications

1. Proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, and use of a tablet.
2. Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
3. Ability to handle work orders and maintain accurate records in a facilities work order database.
4. Ability to lift a minimum of 75 pounds.
5. Mastery of basic hand and power tools, including table saws, circular saws, electric planes, etc.
6. Knowledge of OSHA requirements and commitment to safe work practices.
7. Minimum of five (5) years of experience in plant maintenance and building construction.
8. Knowledge of maintenance, building systems, and repair practices.
9. Understanding of materials, equipment, and methods for proper building maintenance.
10. Any other qualifications deemed appropriate by the Superintendent of Schools.
