Work Year: Twelve (12) Months
Effective Date of Employment: As soon as possible
Organizational Relationship or Line of Authority: Directly responsible to the Director of Facilities and/or his/her designee in all matters pertaining to the building. Responsible to the Superintendent of Schools for all other matters.
Statement of Duties
- Perform a broad range of general maintenance activities including, but not limited to, replacement of BCT, carpet tiles, ceiling tiles / grid work, window or sash.
- Provide general carpentry services such as installing slabs into existing frames, minor remodeling, and renovation work.
- Perform preventative routine maintenance activities.
- Maintain repair and maintenance records of all work performed.
- Maintain inventory of equipment and supplies.
- Attend seminars and workshops to stay informed of current practices and procedures in plant and equipment maintenance.
- Abide by all transportation laws and maintain a safe driving record.
- Perform any other duties as directed by the Director of Facilities, Superintendent of Schools, or their designee, in accordance with policies of the Haverhill School Committee.
- Report to work during off hours as needed for routine tasks, snow management, or building emergencies as determined by the Director of Facilities.
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment and comply with all health and safety regulations.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, and use of a tablet.
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
- Ability to handle work orders and maintain accurate records in a facilities work order database.
- Ability to lift a minimum of 75 pounds.
- Mastery of basic hand and power tools, including table saws, circular saws, electric planes, etc.
- Knowledge of OSHA requirements and commitment to safe work practices.
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in plant maintenance and building construction.
- Knowledge of maintenance, building systems, and repair practices.
- Understanding of materials, equipment, and methods for proper building maintenance.
- Any other qualifications deemed appropriate by the Superintendent of Schools.
