Job summary

Fort Defiance Indian Hospital Board, Inc. is hiring for a facilities maintenance technician in Fort Defiance, AZ. The role requires preventive maintenance on building systems, including electrical, HVAC, and plumbing, with a focus on safety and standards compliance.

Qualifications

• Two years of direct work experience in construction or maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Performs preventive maintenance (PM) services work, inspection, and repair of grounds, building and structures; including electrical, HVAC, and plumbing work for the maintenance, repair, and overhauling of the heating, cooling, cleaning, filtering and circulating systems, other related building and maintenance systems, related fixtures and the other utility systems.
• Ensures finished projects meet accepted trade standards, and documented. Plans and organizes work schedule to meet deadlines.
• Uses motor vehicles, outdoor equipment such as lawn mowers and snow blowers, personal protective equipment, dollies, pressure washer, hand tools, ladders, air compressors, brooms, vacuums, meters, welders, leak detection equipment, gauges, carts, knives, hose, maps, power tools, scaffolds, air powered equipment, hazardous chemicals, torches, refrigerant recovery equipment, vacuum pumps, and other HVAC/R equipment.
• Assists to in utility failures drills including, bomb threats, fire, hazardous materials spills, external and internal disasters.
• Assists with snow and ice removal during the winter months.
• Assist with demolition (tearing out ceiling tiles, ripping down sheet rock walls, removes cabling, pipes and electrical lines).
• Meets Center for Disease Control (CDC) Guidelines for Infection Control in Health Care Facilities.
• Determines protective measures required by an Infection Control Risk Assessment.
• Assist with general work orders issued from Facility Maintenance Manager or Facility Maintenance Supervisor.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
