Job Summary

Assists Maintenance Mechanic I in all activities and duties. Coordinate and complete preventative maintenance on HVAC, plumbing, electrical, overhead doors, dock levelers, and other mechanical systems. Performs minor repairs on above systems.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Assists Maintenance Mechanic I in all activities and duties.
  • Observes mechanical devices in operation and listens to their sounds to locate causes of trouble.
  • Assists in dismantling devices to gain access to and remove defective parts.
  • Assists in inspecting used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements.
  • Assists in adjusting functional parts or devices and control instruments.
  • Assists in repairing or replacing defective parts.
  • Assists in installing special functional and structural parts in devices
  • Lubricates and cleans parts.
  • Performs preventative maintenance tasking as assigned.
  • Responsible for accurate and timely paperwork related to essential duties and responsibilities.
  • Maintain, organize, and control inventory supplies tools and equipment.
  • Clean and organize shop area. Maintain inventory of spare parts and material. Maintain tools and equipment for maintenance work.
Qualifications

  • (prior years work/related experience)
  • Six (6) or more years related experience and training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Licenses/Certifications
  • Must be trained and certified to operate a fork truck
  • Language Skills
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals, Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or associates of organization.
Technical Qualifications & Skills
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs

Physical Demands

The employee frequently is required to climb or balance. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 ponds, frequently lift and/or lift up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Will be required to use ladders, boom lifts, scissor lifts, fork trucks and other equipment to accomplish the job.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and risk of electrical shock. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet/humid conditions, high precarious positions: fumes or airborne particles: toxic or caustic chemicals: outside weather conditions: extreme cold: and extreme heat, and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud
