Job summary

McLaren Health Care in Grand Blanc, Michigan, seeks a Maintenance Technician to repair, install, and maintain hospital HVAC/R, plumbing and electrical systems. This full-time role runs 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

with no on‑call duties, supporting the clinical and support spaces across the campus. A strong background in building systems and mechanical aptitude is essential. Required: high school diploma, a building maintenance certificate or equivalent, and a valid Michigan Operator’s license;

NIULPE 4th class power engineering certification

Under the general direction of the Maintenance Manager repairs, installs, adjusts, monitors, and maintains building HVAC/R, plumbing and electrical systems and performs skilled maintenance and repair tasks of the hospital building systems.

Required:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Possess a building maintenance certificate or equivalent experience.
• Must possess valid State of Michigan Operator’s license
• Must meet approval by insurance carrier to drive hospital vehicles
  

Preferred:

• 4th class power engineering certification from NIULPE (National Institute for the Uniform Licensing of Power Engineers, Inc.) or has Third Class Stationary Engineer, licensed/registered by the State of Michigan
• Certification as a Health Care Mechanic or Health Care Engineer, as accredited by MECH or the Healthcare Facilities Alliance or similar agency.
• Previous experience in HVAC/R systems maintenance in a health care setting.
• Previous experience working alone, without assistance.
