Job summary

Basalite Building Products, LLC in Dixon, CA is seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician to troubleshoot and repair plant machinery, weld, and support safe operations. You will perform electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical maintenance, read drawings, and fabricate parts as needed. Overtime and weekend work may be required.

• Troubleshooter of electrical and maintenance repair issues.
• Working knowledge of PLCs and computer operated equipment.
• Valid Driver’s license required.
• Regular attendance; overtime and weekends as needed.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Under the supervision of the Maintenance Superintendent, this position maintains and repairs machinery and equipment; and is responsible for supporting and demonstrating the Core Values of Integrity, Safety, Respect, Customer Focus, Quality, Innovation and Financial Success. Performs other related duties as assigned.

General

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Troubleshoot issues with plant machinery.
• Repair molds and use appropriate setup procedures.

• Replace equipment parts with proper instructions and tools.

• Comfortable with repairing hydraulic systems
• Order minor parts; and or pick-up parts for repairs.
• Works with operators and supervisors to solve problem with machinery.
• Attends safety meetings and abides by all safety rules set forth by company and governmental regulatory agencies; ensures that hazardous conditions are reported and corrected.
• Predictable, and Regular attendance is required. Must be able to work overtime and weekends as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 3 years welding and machinery maintenance experience required.
• Excellent communication skills: verbal and written
• Basic Math skills: add, subtract, multiply, divide
• Must be an excellent troubleshooter of electrical and maintenance repair issues.
• Must have working knowledge of PLCs and computer operated equipment.
• Valid Driver’s license is required.
• Predictable, and Regular attendance is required. Must be able to work overtime and weekends as needed.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Frequently required to use hands to finger, handle or feel; Reach with hands and arms; Talk and listen; Stand, walk, and sit.
• Occasionally required to bend at the waist; Lift and/or move up to 80 pounds.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

• Work near moving mechanical parts; work in high, precarious places, toxic or caustic chemical, heat or cold (non-weather) conditions, risk of electrical shock, vibration.
• Outdoor weather conditions, extreme temperatures.
• Work with various repair lubricants
• Plant environment with loud noise, moving machinery, dusty, dirty.
• Wear mandatory and/or other appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).

SALARY RANGE:

$30-$38/HR. DOE
