Industrial Maintenance Mechanic I, II & III

Position Summary

The Industrial Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and installing manufacturing equipment and facility systems. Depending on experience level, responsibilities range from supporting basic preventive maintenance and repairs to advanced electrical/mechanical troubleshooting, PLC controls, equipment reliability, project support, and mentoring junior technicians.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on production and facility equipment.
• Respond to production line calls, equipment breakdowns, and emergency repairs.
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and machine control systems.
• Perform equipment installations, modifications, setups, and upgrades.
• Troubleshoot PLCs, relay logic, and electrical controls based on skill level.
• Support facility systems including electrical, lighting, plumbing, air compressors, HVAC, utilities, and related equipment.
• Identify causes of equipment downtime and implement corrective actions.
• Read and maintain mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic drawings and documentation.
• Perform welding and metal fabrication as needed.
• Support preventive maintenance programs, spare parts management, and continuous improvement.
• Train production employees and, at senior levels, mentor junior maintenance technicians.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment and follow all company safety procedures.

Level Requirements

Industrial Mechanic I - Entry Level

• High School Diploma/GED required; vocational or technical coursework preferred.
• 0-1 year of manufacturing maintenance experience preferred.
• Basic equipment repair and hand tool experience required.
• Basic measuring skills using tape measures and digital calipers.
• Strong mechanical aptitude, basic math, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to assist experienced mechanics with repairs and preventive maintenance.

Industrial Mechanic II - Experienced

• High School Diploma/GED required; Associate Degree preferred or equivalent experience.
• 2+ years of manufacturing maintenance experience required.
• Experience with mechanical equipment repair.
• Electrical maintenance experience with low- and high-voltage equipment preferred.
• Ability to troubleshoot PLCs and relay logic.
• Welding and metal fabrication experience is a plus.
• Ability to independently perform preventive and corrective maintenance.

Industrial Mechanic III - Senior/Lead

• High School Diploma/GED required; Associate Degree preferred or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of manufacturing maintenance experience required; continuous operations experience a plus.
• Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting experience required.
• Experience with low- and high-voltage electrical equipment.
• Ability to read mechanical and electrical blueprints.
• Metal fabrication skills required
• Ability to lead complex equipment repairs, troubleshoot downtime, and support equipment/facility projects.
• Experience mentoring and training junior maintenance technicians.
