Job summary

Accurate Personnel LLC is hiring a Maintenance Mechanic for our Berkeley, IL facility to maintain and repair production, packaging, culinary, and related equipment. The role focuses on electrical, electronic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems with PLC controls, ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient operation.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Must successfully complete all company- and government-required training.
  • Minimum of 2 years of maintenance experience within a production or manufacturing environment.
  • Experience troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing production equipment.
  • Ability to properly use electrical testing and diagnostic equipment.
  • Working knowledge of electrical, electronic, mechanical, pneumatic, and automated production systems.
  • Experience with PLC-controlled equipment and industrial machinery preferred.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with team members and management.
  • Sufficient computer skills to navigate company software and computer systems required to perform assigned duties.
  • Ability to speak, read, and write English sufficiently to understand and perform job assignments.
  • Forklift experience or certification is a plus.
  • Ability to consistently maintain a professional and positive demeanor.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, analyze, repair, and maintain electronic, electrical, mechanical, and instrumentation systems associated with production machinery.
  • Service and troubleshoot advanced equipment and controls, including programmable logic controllers (PLCs), motors, speed regulators, servo systems, and sensors.
  • Design and implement test procedures for electrical, electronic, and pneumatic devices used in machine and process-control systems.
  • Prepare reports documenting testing procedures and results.
  • Support the start-up, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical and electronic equipment and machinery.
  • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance and unscheduled corrective maintenance on packaging equipment and conveyor systems.
  • Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain Proseal packaging technology systems.
  • Ensure appropriate sanitation and safety standards are maintained within assigned areas and that applicable team members are trained.
  • Coordinate maintenance activities with other internal departments and participate in management team meetings as required.
  • Determine when equipment requires repair or replacement per PLC protocols.
  • Comply with all applicable electrical codes.

HIRING IMMEDIATELY: MAINTENANCE MECHANIC IN BERKELEY, IL

Accurate Personnel is hiring immediately for a Maintenance Mechanic to join our team in Berkeley, IL. The Facilities Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing production, packaging, culinary, electrical, electronic, pneumatic, and mechanical equipment within a food production environment. This position helps ensure equipment operates safely and reliably while maintaining the highest standards of food quality, sanitation, regulatory compliance, and operational efficiency. The Facilities Technician will perform both scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, troubleshoot complex equipment and control systems, and support continuous improvement initiatives throughout the facility.

Pay, Schedule, and Location
  • Starting at $28 to $32/hour, paid weekly

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Troubleshoot, analyze, repair, and maintain electronic, electrical, mechanical, and instrumentation systems associated with production machinery.
  • Service and troubleshoot advanced equipment and controls, including programmable logic controllers (PLCs), microprocessor-based devices, motors, speed regulators, servo systems, feedback devices, cam switches, electronic display panels, industrial computers, photoelectric devices, barcode readers, inductive proximity sensors, pneumatic actuators, temperature controllers, phase-angle controllers, relays, and switching devices.
  • Design and implement test procedures for electrical, electronic, and pneumatic devices used in machine and process-control systems.
  • Prepare reports documenting testing procedures and results.
  • Support the start-up, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical and electronic equipment and machinery.
  • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance and unscheduled corrective maintenance on packaging equipment, PLC-controlled conveyor systems, culinary equipment, and other mechanical equipment.
  • Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain Proseal packaging technology systems.
  • Ensure appropriate sanitation and safety standards are maintained within assigned areas and that applicable team members are properly trained.
  • Communicate effectively and professionally, both verbally and in writing, with management and team members.
  • Conduct recurring inventory counts and maintain accurate records in accordance with company, government, and applicable accrediting agency standards.
  • Coordinate maintenance activities with other internal departments and participate in management team meetings as required.
  • Determine when equipment requires repair or replacement and perform necessary corrective actions while adhering to established data architecture guidelines and PLC protocols.
  • Comply with all applicable local, state, and national electrical codes.
  • Work safely with electrical systems including 480V, 240V, 220V, and 12V systems and various amperages.
Requirements and Qualifications
