Job summary

DICK'S Sporting Goods is seeking a Maintenance Technician for the Distribution Center in New York. The role focuses on maintaining and repairing facility equipment and conveyance systems, with emphasis on PLCs, hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical schematics.

The position requires 3-5 years of relevant experience, an asso­ciate degree or technical certificate, and strong safety discipline including LOTO. The role involves standing, lifting up to 75 lbs, and collaborating with vendors.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or technical cert preferred in mechanical/electrical applications.
• 3-5 years of related maintenance experience.
• Welding, burning and cutting experience required.
• Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, gear boxes and PLC controls.
• Familiar with DC-specific software packages (e.g. Crown PM, Gage).
• Ability to read electrical/mechanical drawings/schematics.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to OSHA/LOTO safety requirements and safe work practices.
• Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair facility equipment and conveyance systems; document PMs.
• Report spare parts usage to maintenance leadership to manage inventory.
• Train junior technicians to improve performance and troubleshooting skills.
• Collaborate with outside vendors to complete projects safely and on time.
• Take on additional duties to support DC operations.

OVERVIEW

Shift: 2B: Tuesday - Friday 5:30p - 3:30a

Rate: $29.55/hr. + $1/hr. shift dif

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Adhere to all safety requirements including OSHA standards with regards to LOTO and safe work practices.
• Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair all equipment related to the facility and conveyance systems within the facility. Follow PM standards and document work performed for accurate record keeping in our asset management system. Areas of expertise must include PLC’s, conveyors, 3 phase electric, hydraulics, pneumatics, plumbing, and any other related equipment.
• Accurately report spare parts inventory levels and daily parts usage to Maintenance leadership to help ensure spare parts inventory is maintained.
• Assist in teammate development by training junior technicians in order to elevate their performance level while troubleshooting and repairing any related assets.
• Work closely with outside vendors in order to complete projects within the DCs in a safe and timely manor.
• Take on other duties as needed to support the DC and it’s operational needs.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Associate's Degree - 2 year vocational technical certificate or degree preferably in a mechanical or electrical application.
• 3-5 years of experience.
• Welding, burning, cutting.
• Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, gear boxes & PLC controls.
• Familiar with DC-specific specialized software packages (ex. Crown PM, Gage) & equipment.
• Able to read & understand electrical mechanical building type drawings/schematics.
• Good safety awareness.
• Ability to stand, bend, stoop, reach, push, pull & lift up to 75 lbs.
• Experience with LOTO.

Targeted Pay Range: $29.55 - $42.90. Starting rate of pay may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, location, experience and position offered.
