Job description

Maintenance Mechanic
Location: Onsite, Charlotte, NC 28202
Pay Rate: $28.20/hr, paid weekly
Hours: 6am – 2:30pm, usually Monday – Friday and Sunday.

• Need to be willing to be on call.

Responsibilities

• Maintain all equipment to required standards and respond to line calls.
• Support preventative and failure-based maintenance as needed.
• Install and maintain machinery and equipment using hoists, lift trucks, hand tools, and power tools.
• Work within established safety standards and practices.
• Troubleshoot mechanical failures and repair/rebuild pumps.
• Maintain conveyors, auger systems, cables, and packaging equipment.
• Work independently with minimal supervision while demonstrating strong teamwork.
• Recommend changes or upgrades to improve machine reliability and performance.
• Read equipment drawings and documents.
• Document work and modifications to equipment.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• VO Tech or Millwright training preferred.
• Strong knowledge of OHSA and applicable safety standards.
• Familiarity with standard industrial maintenance concepts, practices, and procedures.
• Experience with pumps, pump alignments, conveyors, safe rigging practices, hydraulics, cutting, grinding, and welding.
• Good communication skills and ability to work under time constraints.
• Regular, prompt attendance required.
• Ability to climb stairs, lift, sit, stand for long periods, work in confined spaces, work with heights, bend, and kneel.
• Ability to work in all-weather conditions.
• Background check required.
