Under general direction of the Chief Engineer II, the Maintenance Mechanic in the Facilities Management Division (FMD) Junipero Serra Unit is responsible for independently performing a wide variety of skilled maintenance tasks to maintain, improve, and repair the buildings, occupied spaces, mechanical systems and equipment in accordance with Department of General Services (DGS) and FMD policies, procedures, and guidelines.
This position may require travel.
This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship. Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship by the start date of employment. The Department of General Services does not participate in E-Verify for employment authorization purposes.

The employee with the greatest amount of continuous “local work location” seniority in the class shall be selected over other employees and notified of start date.
