This position is eligible to telework up to one (1) day a week, in accordance with the Statewide Telework Policy, and will be required to report to the office as needed/required. Under the general direction of the Supervising Civil Engineer, the position plans, performs, and directs a wide variety of difficult civil engineering work including but not limited to design, specifications and computations. The position is responsible for the production of programming and design documents, coordination with other project disciplines, and management of the construction phase of difficult projects as requested by Project Management & Development Branch (PMDB) clients in accordance with PMDB policies and procedures, California Building Standards Code, and Public Contract Code. The Senior Civil Engineer acts as a lead to lower level civil engineering staff.
This position is designated under the Conflict of Interest Code. The position is responsible for making or participating in the making of governmental decisions that may potentially have a material effect on personal financial interests. The appointee is required to complete Form 700 within 30 days of appointment and once per year.
This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship. Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship by the start date of employment. The Department of General Services does not participate in E-Verify for employment authorization purposes.
