Job summary

Healthcare Linen Services Group in Brownstown Charter Township, MI is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic to install, repair, and maintain large industrial textile processing equipment and related facility systems. This role covers start-up/shut-down, electrical troubleshooting, boilers, welding, hydraulics, pneumatics, and general mechanical systems.

You will support the Maintenance Manager, develop preventive maintenance plans, complete PMs, monitor equipment and boilers, and assist contractors.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of experience required.
• Punctuality and reliability a must.
• Honesty and strong work ethic.
• Ability to solve problems independently.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• 2nd Class B Boilers Operator License preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist Maintenance Manager with plant maintenance operations to keep premises and equipment safe and clean.
• Help build a maintenance program that optimizes uptime and meets regulations/OSHA guidelines.
• Complete PMs, troubleshoot and repair equipment, and document work performed.
• Monitor equipment and boilers; coordinate with management on replacements as needed.
• Assist external contractors with repairs and installations of machinery.
• Apply general plumbing and HVAC skills to equipment and facility maintenance.
• Maintain a neat, clean work area and comply with company policies.
• Operate forklift to unload/load trucks.
• Perform other duties as assigned per scope of work or customer needs.

Salary Range: $24.00 To $35.00 Hourly

JOB SUMMARY:1st s shift The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining large industrial textile processing equipment, as well as facility maintenance. Tasks include start-up and shut-down procedures, electrical troubleshooting, maintaining and operating boilers, welding and cutting, hydraulics, pneumatics, mechanical, and other systems

• Assists Maintenance Manager with all plant maintenance operations, ensuring that plant premises and equipment are kept in safe and clean condition
• Assists in building a maintenance program that optimizes the plant’s uptime, considers costs, and satisfies all industry regulations and OSHA guidelines
• Complete PMs. Troubleshoot, repair, and rebuild equipment and document the work done without direct supervision
• Monitor equipment and ensure it is kept in good working order. Work closely with management to repair or replace equipment as needed
• Monitor boilers and associated equipment for proper operation
• Assist outside contractors with repairing and installing machinery
• Able to apply general plumbing and HVAC skills to maintain equipment and facility
• Always complies with company policies and procedures
• Maintains a neat and clean working area throughout the day
• Operate forklift to unload and load trucks.
• Other duties as assigned, as required by scope of work or customer needs.

Physical Demands

• Continual standing and walking during shift.
• Continual reaching with hands/fingers/arms during shift.

• Must be able to occasionally lift over 80 pounds.
• Will occasionally encounter toxic chemicals.

Schedule

• 8 hour shift
• Monday to Friday
• Must be able to work OT and weekends as needed
