Job summary

Premier Technology, Inc. seeks an on-site Maintenance Technician in Blackfoot, ID. You will diagnose, repair and perform preventive maintenance on a range of manufacturing equipment and tooling, including CNCs, HVAC, boilers, and material handling gear.

Essential duties include PMs per manufacturer guidelines, replacing or repairing failed equipment, and keeping detailed records. Safety, LOTO, and lifting duties are integral to daily tasks.

Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year College or technical school; or one to three years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Broad mechanical skillset and problem solving mindset, interpersonal and written communication skills.
  • Intermediate computer skills are a must. Ability to interpret electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematics and drawings.

Responsibilities

  • Perform PMs per manufacturer recommendations on equipment including CNCs, HVAC, boilers, air compressors, cranes, and lifts.
  • Remove from service non-functioning equipment and repair to return to service.
  • Troubleshoot faults, research replacement parts, and propose purchase recommendations to maintenance lead.
  • Follow safety practices including LOTO; work with low/high voltage circuits using a digital multimeter.
  • Operate aerial work platforms such as scissor/boom/ articulating lifts.
  • Record repairs, update equipment status, and track assigned work.
  • Be a self-starter, requiring minimal direction once trained; adapt to changing production needs.

Job Description
Primary Function

Diagnose, repair, and perform preventative maintenance on a variety of equipment and tools used in the manufacturing process. Build, modify and/or adjust tooling or equipment to meet current needs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Perform PMs preventative maintenance as outlined in manufacturer recommendations. This equipment includes, but is not limited to, CNC equipment, HVAC and boilers, air compressors, cranes, lifts, overhead doors, material handling equipment, trucks, trailers, welders and various hand tools.
  • Remove from service non-functioning equipment. Troubleshoot, repair, adjust tools/equipment and return to service.
  • Troubleshoot and determine faults, research replacement parts, provide purchase recommendations to maintenance team lead.
  • Must possess low and high voltage electrical safety knowledge and safe work practices including lock out tag out (LOTO) procedures and the use of digital multimer to troubleshoot low and high voltage circuits safely.
  • Must be comfortable operating aerial work platforms (AWPs), including scissor lifts, boom lifts, and articulating lifts.
  • Record repairs and service, update equipment status, track and manage assigned work.
  • Must be a self-starter able to work with minimal direction or supervision once trained on equipment.
  • Must be adaptable, and able to switch between tasks as production demands shift to different equipment.

Minimum Qualifications/Experience

Physical Demands

The job may require climbing of ladders and/or stairs. The employee will often lift heavy pieces of metal, work with arms overhead, torso twist, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk and hear. The employee is frequently required to stand, often for extended periods; the employee must frequently lift and /or move up to 25 pounds, regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move weight above 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include strong visual acuity (with or without correction), color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception. Long hours (10 or more) are often scheduled, and job may require overtime and travel.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, loud noises, tripping hazards, exposure to sparks, welding arc, and open flame. The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, mild industrial chemicals, inclement weather, risk of electrical shock and vibration. It is essential for employees to maintain awareness of their surroundings and when required, wear the necessary PPE. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
