American Pacific Corporation (AMPAC) in Cedar City, UT is seeking a skilled Millwright/Mechanical technician to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair production equipment and associated machinery. The role offers a wage of $33.60 per hour with scheduled increases at 3, 6, 9, and 12 months based on performance.

Required experience in Millwright or related trades, with journeyman status in Millwright/Machinist/Welding/Pipefitting and strong mechanical aptitude.

Qualifications

• Experience in Millwright or Mechanical industry.
• Journeyman or equivalent in one or more of the following trades: Millwright, Machinist, Welding and Pipefitting.
• Strong Mechanical aptitude and hands-on mechanical skills.
• Some welding and fabrication of stainless steel and carbon steel; hydraulics, pneumatics, and basic electrical principles are a plus.
• Experience rebuilding process equipment such as pumps and gearboxes; willingness to participate in skill enhancement programs.
• Proactive and self-motivated with ability to work in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoots and repairs machinery as needed; rebuilds pumps and gear reducers.
• Duties may include working with PVC, fiber cast and FRP piping.
• Align rotating machinery using dial indicators and laser alignment.
• Welding and fabrication skills.
• Ability to work any shift, including weekends and overtime; endure various temperature extremes.
• Complies with safety, personnel, and quality policies.

General Description of Work Performed:

Under minimal supervision, performs the functions necessary to maintain, troubleshoot, repair, install and rebuild production equipment and associated machinery.

Wage: $33.60/Hr.

Schedule wage increases at 3,6, 9 & 12 month time periods based on performance.

Qualifications

Required Experience/Skills:

Experience in Millwright or Mechanical industry.

Journeyman or equivalent in one or more of the following trades: Millwright, Machinist, Welding and Pipefitting. Must have a strong Mechanical aptitude.

Some experience in welding and fabrication of stainless steel, carbon steel. Working knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics and basic electrical principles a plus.

Responsibilities

Specific Job Duties:

Disciplines, combined with appropriate hands on experience that demonstrates mechanical aptitude or a millwright, machinist, or similar certification along with appropriate industrial experience.

Duties may include the following: Troubleshoots and repairs machinery as needed. Rebuilds pumps, gear reducers and other process equipment.

Ability to work with PVC, fiber cast and FRP piping.

Alignment of rotating machinery at a minimum with dial indicators, and preferably with laser alignment equipment.

Welding and fabrication skills.

Ability to work any shift, including weekends and overtime. Ability to work in various temperature extremes.

Schedule: 10 hour days, days working rotates through week for weekend coverage.
