St Mary’s Health Care System in Athens is seeking a second shift HVAC/R maintenance technician to perform preventive maintenance on building systems, respond to requests, and assist with complex repairs. The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent with HVAC/R training preferred and at least two years in maintenance.
You will read blueprints and regulatory documents, lift heavy equipment, and work with hospital staff, patients, and vendors while maintaining safety and quality standards.

Education: High school diploma or equivalent; technical school or associate degree in HVAC/R or a related field preferred.
Experience: Minimum of two (2) years of experience in a maintenance field required Basic knowledge of building systems (electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry).
Ability to use hand and power tools safely
Strong customer service skills when interacting with hospital staff
Ability to lift and move equipment up to typical maintenance standards
Willingness to work rotating shifts including weekends or on‑call as needed
Position Purpose to Demonstrate: Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and electronic HVAC/R systems Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical manuals, schematics, and regulatory documents. Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently. Excellent communication and teamwork skills; ability to interact professionally with hospital staff, patients, and vendors. Physical ability to lift heavy equipment, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces or adverse conditions.
