SUMMARY

Perform a variety of semi-skilled and skilled duties to repair, rebuild, maintain, and install machinery, building equipment, and fixtures.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Work from work orders, verbal instructions, trade training, manuals, blueprints, and drawings to machine and fabricate parts, assemble, or disassemble machines, and troubleshoot problems.
• Operate machines and equipment to complex and exact tolerances to meet assigned job requirements.
• Layout materials for machine guards, parts, conveyors, tanks, shafts, and building repairs.
• Setup and test run equipment for adjustments, improvements, and reduction of downtime or setup times.
• Rig, move, and install heavy or delicate machinery and equipment.
• Erect, move, and repair walls, fixtures, doors, and floors.
• Maintain vehicles and material handling trucks. Design jigs, fixtures, and operating stands.
• Instruct operators and less experienced personnel to operate machines and equipment effectively and safely.
• Provide mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and building trade practices for maintenance services.
• Develop bills of materials and parts lists for assigned projects.
• Operate lathes, mills, grinders, bench equipment, welders, plumbing tools, and use precision measuring instruments, power, and hand tools.
• Prepare and submit records, reports, and forms as required by company procedures.
• Observe all company policies and regulations, including safety, housekeeping, and quality standards, supported by ISO procedures.
• Utilize total quality concepts, tools, and techniques to support continuous quality improvement with a positive "Can Do" attitude.
• Support and maintain a positive team environment throughout the company.
• Perform other duties as necessary to meet business conditions and changes.

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or GED; or over three to five years of related CNC machining equipment maintenance experience and machine shop machinery maintenance and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to draft routine reports and correspondence. Effective speaking skills before other employees.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to perform basic arithmetic, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division in all units of measure, using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent, and to interpret bar graphs. Ability to apply basic trigonometry.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations with limited standardization. Ability to interpret instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
