Job description

Position Summary : Responsible for the daily management and scheduling of Maintenance Department and employees, driving a culture of Maintenance Excellence through LEAN principles.

Essential Duties and Requirements :

  • Daily Operations-management of maintenance employees, scheduling

budgeting, employee development

  • Participate in daily production meetings to support operational needs;

utilize maintenance resources to develop plans for corrective action

  • Perform Root Cause Analysis on all critical and repeat failures and ensure action items derived are implemented and sustain
  • Provide leadership, coaching and support to the maintenance team, allocating & prioritizing tasks to execute preventive maintenance and reliability plans
  • Set the overall strategy and standards for best to improve OEE efficiency utilizing Maintenance KPI's
  • Mentor, train and develop the maintenance team and act as their technical resource.
  • Drive Equipment Ownership and implement programs to ensure equipment is being maintained at basic condition
  • Manage and coordinate all mechanical contracted services
  • Strong involvement in the initiation, development and installation of capital projects / initiatives to improve plant safety, quality and efficiencies
  • Contribute to continuous improvement and cost reduction programs
  • Utilize (MP2) maintenance management system and ensure its full utilization
  • Work with Storeroom Coordinator to reduce downtime associated

with stocks, develop storeroom procedures to facilitate sustainable programs

surrounding stock outs, organization, and inventory / cost reduction

  • R&M-Costs / Tracking and budget responsibilities - Develop and implement

spending controls for maintenance R&M. Monitor and report spending

  • Maintain the facility to comply with all regulatory standards.
  • Responsible for promoting food safety, employee safety and quality throughout the organization
  • Training-Ensure OSHA and Plant Safety compliance

Supervisory Responsibilities : This job has direct supervisory responsibilities for the plant's maintenance and controls technicians as well as the Plants Maintenance Store Coordinator.

Skills :

  • Strong technical background with production / packaging machinery.
  • Possesses sound knowledge of troubleshooting, adjusting or repairing equipment. Including PLCs.
  • Knowledge of and ability to read and interpret reports, schematics, diagrams and other maintenance troubleshooting guides.
  • Working knowledge of preventative maintenance software
  • Computer literacy, including proficiency in MS Office, Outlook and Excel.
  • Aptitude and interest for learning while demonstrating leadership in a progressive work environment.
  • Highly developed interpersonal and problem solving skills
  • Ability to delegate and hold people accountable for results / satisfactory completion of tasks
  • Effective team building skills.
  • Excellent communication written and verbal skills.
  • Effective presentation skills both formally and informally.
  • Demonstrated ability to strive for results
  • Must be knowledgeable and be able to follow GMPs, Food Safety and Health and Safety requirements
  • Considerable knowledge of food manufacturing processes and accompanying maintenance protocol
  • Must be a dynamic individual who is quality and customer oriented with the ability to coach employees to achieve established organizational goals.
  • Ability to supervise in a non-union environment.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks with time, people, and equipment restraints.

Education and / or Experience

  • 10+ years of Maintenance leadership experience in an SQF regulated facility strongly preferred
  • Associate's degree in a technical discipline preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or similar field strongly preferred

Pay Rate :
