Job summary

F&S Fresh Foods in Houston, TX is seeking a Maintenance Manager to lead the Maintenance department, overseeing preventative and repair maintenance of machinery, building systems, and packaging equipment across operations. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience in multiple trades—hydraulics, plumbing, electrical, refrigeration—and knowledge of Ammonia systems and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or trades certification preferred.
• 2+ years in a Maintenance Lead/Supervisor/Manager role; 3+ years as a Maintenance Technician or in related mechanical repair work.
• 2+ years working with automated conveyor systems, motor controls, and electro/mechanical equipment; 1+ year reading blueprints and electrical schematics.
• Working knowledge of Ammonia systems and local, state, and federal regulatory requirements.
• Proficiency with a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) and Microsoft Office Suite
• Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred

Responsibilities

• Lead and schedule the Maintenance team, including training and performance reviews.
• Oversee preventive and predictive maintenance for mechanical equipment, pumps, motors, compressors, and conveyors.
• Troubleshoot and repair production and material handling equipment.
• Maintain building systems such as HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and refrigeration.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, DOT, CARB, AQMD, and ammonia safety protocols.
• Manage work orders, budgets, parts, and reporting; interpret blueprints and diagrams as needed.
• Partner with Operations for continuous improvement and mentor junior technicians.
