Title: Maintenance Manager
Location: Indianapolis, IN
Shift & Hours: 1st shift - 5am to 3/4 PM (Saturdays as needed)
Pay Rate: $110k to $130k

The Maintenance Manager oversees all maintenance activities, manages preventative maintenance, work orders, special projects, and departmental functions. Serves as primary coach and trainer for maintenance supervisors and participates in continuous improvement efforts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work independently or as part of a team with minimal supervision.

- Ensure accuracy and thoroughness in all tasks, and seek to improve quality and efficiency.
- Set strategic and tactical directions for maintenance processes, including repairs, preventative maintenance, machine fabrication, installation, and tool modifications.
- Provide leadership and technical expertise to ensure adherence to procedures and drive continuous improvement.
- Develop and implement methods to enhance operations, reduce costs, and optimize labor and materials.
- Collaborate with management on product plans and equipment requirements.
- Establish spare parts inventory for equipment.
- Foster a safe work environment by auditing hazards and promoting safe habits.
- Understand, promote, and enforce company policies.
- Undertake other duties as assigned.
Preventative Maintenance:
- Assess current work processes, including workflow, time, costs, and durations.
- Develop strategies to improve productivity and efficiency.
- Apply problem-solving techniques to evaluate improvements.
- Lead change initiatives and manage cross-functional projects to reduce errors and waste.
- Formalize the PM program with defined tasks, frequency, and materials.
- Schedule PMs during production days to minimize downtime.
- Maintain accurate PM records.
- Assign daily tasks to mechanics and track parts for PMs and projects.
- Review work and documentation for GMP standards adherence.
Work Orders:
- Perform facility inspections to identify issues.
- Manage work order system: generate, log, assign, verify, and report status.
Projects:
- Collaborate on quotes, purchase orders, scheduling, monitoring, troubleshooting, and invoice approval for external services and parts.
Maintenance Department Administration:
- Coordinate technician training, including onboarding and vendor training.
- Organize stockroom and maintain inventory levels.
- Assist in special projects and fill in for the Shift Supervisor as needed.
- Send reports on PM/WO completion and downtime.
Education/Experience:
- Minimum five years in a similar role (baking experience preferred).
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Self-motivated with minimal supervision.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and preventive maintenance systems.
- Lean or Six Sigma certifications are a plus.
