Confidential in the Madison, WI area is seeking a Maintenance Manager to lead maintenance operations across its production facilities. This hands-on leadership role will build a structured program as the company scales into a new facility.

The ideal candidate has 8+ years in maintenance leadership within food/beverage manufacturing, with experience standing up CMMS-based systems, budget and vendor management, and a proven track record of building programs rather than merely maintaining them.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in a maintenance leadership role, ideally in food or beverage manufacturing.
• Proven experience building or overhauling a maintenance program — not just maintaining one.
• Comfort managing budgets, vendors, and a technical team that includes controls staff.
• No specific degree required — we're prioritizing hands-on experience and leadership track record.

Responsibilities

• Lead a maintenance team of ~12 (technicians and an electrician) through a maintenance foreman.
• Stand up and manage a CMMS-based parts and work-order system.
• Own MRO cost control and drive down maintenance spend without sacrificing reliability.
• Support commissioning of new equipment and facility systems, including air handling and refrigeration.
• Partner with plant leadership on staffing, scheduling, and weekend coverage in a 24/7, multi-shift environment.
• Ensure compliance with food safety and regulatory standards (GMP, HACCP, OSHA); support audit readiness (SQF/BRC a plus).
