Job summary

Spectra Tech, Inc. in Madison, WI is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor to lead a team of maintenance technicians in a high-volume food manufacturing facility. You will maximize equipment reliability, minimize downtime, and ensure compliance with OSHA, FDA, SQF/HACCP/FSMA standards.

The role is hands-on on the floor, partnering with Operations and Quality Assurance, with responsibilities spanning shift supervision, PM/ predictive maintenance, and contractor management.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate's degree, technical certification, or completed vocational training preferred.
• 3–5 years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment preferred, with food/beverage experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Supervise the daily activities of shift maintenance technicians.
• Coach, mentor, and evaluate direct reports; manage performance reviews and training.
• Schedule coverage for vacations, holidays, and absences; onboard and train new hires.
• Execute preventive and predictive maintenance using the CMMS.
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and automated systems (including PLCs and packaging lines).
• Oversee utility systems (ammonia refrigeration, HVAC, steam boilers, compressed air, wastewater).
• Manage external contractors and vendors; audit work for compliance with specs.
• Enforce GMPs and sanitary design; ensure sanitation post-maintenance; document for regulatory bodies (SQF/HACCP/FSMA).
