We're currently hiring a Maintenance Manager for 1st Shift.

Job Overview

As a Maintenance Manager, you will supervise the Maintenance Department to ensure quality standards are met and customer satisfaction is achieved. Supervises and coordinates activities of workers engaged in setting up, installing, repairing and maintaining machinery and equipment and in fabrication parts and tools. Establish and maintain effective working relationships internally and externally. Communicate effectively with all departments.

DUTES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Support and assist the VP – Plant Operations and Manufacturing in the improvement of processes and equipment.
  • Maintain and improve all existing facilities and equipment and make sure they are FDA and USDA approved as required.
  • Maintain all departments in an operational state of repair to complete the daily work schedules and responsibilities. This requires interaction with all department managers and employees.
  • Assist in planning future equipment, processes and facilities.
  • Keep the VP – of Plant Operations and Manufacturing informed and updated on all ongoing activities within the plant.
  • Responsible for ensuring that all maintenance costs, efficiencies, quality and safety standards are met.
  • Requisition and keep supply of spare parts.
  • Maintain time and production records.
  • Interpret specifications, blueprints, electrical schematics and work orders to workers, and assign duties.
  • Study production schedules and estimate worker hour requirements for completion of job assignments.
  • Save company money by fabricating parts in-house or purchasing from alternative vendors rather than purchasing OEM parts.
  • Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organizations policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITES REQUIRED :

Must be experienced working with computers and have the ability to learn, navigate and use designated software programs as required to perform job functions. Must be able to work effectively in a multi-tasking work environment and prioritize workload. Must be able to work independently and have the ability to interact positively with others within the department and organization. Must have the ability to effectively supervise others. Must demonstrate the ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, blueprints, drawings, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to clearly and effectively write reports and correspondence.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE :

Engineering Degree and minimum 5 years related experience required, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must have at least three years previous managerial experience. Food Industry experience preferred.
