R.M. Palmer Company is seeking an experienced Maintenance Manager to lead our maintenance operations and ensure the reliability of our production equipment and facility systems. This hands-on role oversees preventive and predictive maintenance programs, facility upgrades, and team development while ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

• Oversee maintenance and repair of production equipment, utilities, and facility systems.
• Lead root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for equipment failures.
• Manage preventive and predictive maintenance programs to minimize downtime.
• Supervise capital projects, upgrades, and equipment installations.
• Coordinate with vendors and contractors for repairs and installations.
• Develop and lead a high-performing maintenance team.
• Maintain records, manage spare parts inventory, and control department budget.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, FDA, SQF, and internal safety/quality standards.
• Collaborate with production, quality, and sanitation teams to support plant goals.
• Promote safe work practices and report food safety concerns.

Qualifications

• Technical certification or associate degree preferred.
• 7+ years of maintenance experience in manufacturing; 3+ years in a leadership role.
• Experience in food or FDA-regulated facilities a plus.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
• Proficient with CMMS, Microsoft Office, and interpreting technical documents.
• Solid understanding of GMP, HACCP, OSHA, and environmental regulations.
• Strong leadership, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
