Title: Manufacturing Maintenance Manager
Location: Pittsburgh, PA
We are seeking a results-driven Maintenance Manager to lead the maintenance operations at our Pittsburgh, PA facility. This role is responsible for driving a culture of safety and continuous improvement while providing technical expertise and leadership to maintenance associates and cross-functional teams. Reporting directly to the Plant Manager, the Maintenance Manager will oversee equipment reliability, facility upkeep, preventive maintenance, and capital improvement projects.
Base pay range
$100,000.00/yr - $125,000.00/yr
Responsibilities
- Champion safety as a core value; partner with EHS leaders to proactively identify and resolve safety concerns.
- Lead and engage the maintenance team in daily safety meetings and promote a strong safety culture across the plant.
- Support the Plant Manager in ensuring full regulatory compliance and maintaining all equipment in excellent operating condition.
- Drive key performance indicators (KPIs) related to safety, quality, cost, customer service, schedule adherence, associate development, and facility performance.
- Oversee maintenance of all systems and production equipment to ensure seamless operations and support distribution.
- Lead planning and execution of maintenance activities during plant shutdowns and other scheduled downtime.
- Develop and manage the annual preventive maintenance (PM) schedule; monitor completion and assess effectiveness.
- Collaborate with Production Control and Manufacturing to align maintenance plans with operational goals.
- Evaluate and recommend capital investments; manage medium-scale capital and plant expansion projects as Project Manager.
- Partner with Finance to manage maintenance payroll and spending budgets.
- Identify training needs and opportunities for upskilling; help transform the team into a multi-skilled, flexible workforce.
- Promote Lean and Six Sigma methodologies to continuously improve maintenance operations and resolve issues in real time.
- Work with Process Engineering on improvements to products, equipment, and processes.
- Stay current with industry trends and best practices to ensure operational excellence.
- Maintain daily engagement with hourly maintenance associates to understand team capabilities and equipment status.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field.
- Experience managing in a unionized environment.
- Strong technical background in Electrical, PLC, and Mechanical systems.
- 8+ years of experience in a maintenance/facilities leadership role within a manufacturing environment.
- Proficient in CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems).
- Comfortable with data analysis and using software systems, including spreadsheets.
- Strong collaborative skills and the ability to work effectively in team environments.
