Maintenance Manager, TPM (also a Maintenance Supervisor position available)

Compensation: $125,000–$145,000 base + 12% bonus + full benefits

A leading producer of bases, sauces, gravies, and soup mixes serving food manufacturing, restaurant, and consumer markets. This Oswego facility operates with a lean but highly capable maintenance team supporting a full production environment.
Position Summary
The Maintenance Manager will champion a culture of maintenance excellence by driving TPM, preventive maintenance, and continuous improvement across the facility. This leader will reduce maintenance‑related losses—including breakdowns, maintenance costs, and lost productivity—while ensuring equipment reliability and supporting production performance. This is a hands‑on, highly technical role overseeing a small but strong team of four maintenance professionals.
Key Responsibilities
Maintenance Leadership & Team Development
- Supervise, coach, and develop maintenance personnel; set priorities and direction for daily and long‑term work.
- Conduct formal performance evaluations twice per year with ongoing feedback and touch‑base conversations.
- Hold the team accountable to technical standards and verify quality of work performed.
- Coordinate and oversee outside contractors, ensuring safety, quality, and project execution.
Maintenance Operations & Reliability
- Lead TPM, reliability, preventive, and predictive maintenance initiatives.
- Establish and maintain maintenance procedures for production lines in a food manufacturing environment.
- Manage CMMS usage, asset management, and maintenance documentation.
- Ensure production lines meet or exceed budgeted performance targets.
Technical & Facility Management
- Maintain all manufacturing assets, utilities, and facility infrastructure.
- Oversee parts inventory, purchasing, spending, and invoice approvals.
- Support production capacity planning and equipment capability improvements in partnership with Engineering and Plant Management.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical, mechanical, and PLC/automation issues (Allen‑Bradley experience strongly preferred).
Safety, Compliance & Continuous Improvement
- Ensure a safe, clean, and compliant work environment aligned with food safety, environmental, and emergency management regulations.
- Apply Lean, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies to reduce downtime and improve efficiency.
- Participate in special projects and cross‑functional initiatives as needed.
Required Skills & Experience
- High School diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a technical field preferred.
- 5+ years of maintenance leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.
- 4+ years of supervisory experience.
- Strong technical expertise in:
- Experience in preventive & predictive maintenance programs.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule as needed.
Preferred Skills & Experience
- TPM and Autonomous Maintenance experience.
- Food or beverage manufacturing experience.
- Working knowledge of regulatory requirements in food safety, safety, environmental, and emergency management.
- Strong Technical & Maintenance Expertise
- Deep understanding of electrical, mechanical, lubrication, and automation/PLC systems, preventive/predictive maintenance, and CMMS/asset management.
- Ability to supervise, develop, and hold a maintenance team accountable while coordinating contractors and cross‑functional partners.
- Maintenance Strategy & Operational Excellence Mindset
- Experience driving TPM, reliability, continuous improvement, budget management, and production performance.
