Job summary

Groot Hospitality in Miami Beach is seeking an experienced Maintenance Manager to oversee all building-related activities, ensuring facilities are safe, reliable, and cost-efficient.

You will manage construction vendors, perform cost analyses on repairs vs replacements, conduct weekly unit walkthroughs with GMs, implement preventive maintenance programs, and oversee staff and vendors to keep equipment, utilities, and security compliant.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as Maintenance Manager or a relevant position.
• Well-versed in technical/engineering operations and facilities management best practices.
• Knowledge of basic accounting and finance principles.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, English/Spanish bilingual preferred but not required.
• Proper organizational and leadership skills.
• Resourceful, critical thinking.
• Relevant professional qualification (e.g., CFM) will be an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Director of Operations and external vendors to execute FOH & BOH construction.
• Performs equipment repair vs. replacement analysis and recommends cost-effective solutions.
• Conducts weekly visits to each unit to proactively identify maintenance issues.
• Documents findings and addresses maintenance concerns.
• Conducts facility training days with GMs.
• Follows up on preventive maintenance activities.
• Develops and implements preventive maintenance programs for major systems.
• Maintains integrity of vendor documents (insurance certificates, licenses).
• Acts as single point of contact for facility issues not via work-order system.
• Maintains work-order system daily and sources new qualified vendors.
• Oversees maintenance personnel and external contractors.
• Manages upkeep of equipment and supplies to meet health and safety standards.
• Reviews utilities consumption and strives to minimize costs.
• Supervises all facilities staff (custodians, technicians, groundskeepers).
• Controls activities like waste disposal and building security.

Overview

We are looking for an experienced Maintenance Manager to oversee all building-related activities. They will be responsible for preserving the good condition of infrastructure and ensuring that facilities are safe and well-functioning. The Facilities Manager, under the supervision of the Director of Operations, is responsible for ensuring that multiple facilities have their physical structure and operating equipment maintained and repaired in a timely and cost-efficient manner. Manage construction vendors who perform remodeling, maintenance services, and repairs in the areas of plumbing, carpentry, painting, plastering, machine servicing, janitorial, general grounds, heating, ventilation, air conditioning, security, and electrical systems. The ideal candidate will be well-organized and able to optimize the use of space and equipment while reducing operating costs. Responsibilities

• Works directly with the Director of Operations and outside contractor/vendor partners to execute FOH & BOH restaurant construction.
• Performs equipment repair vs. replacement analysis and recommends the most cost-effective, efficient and expeditious solution.
• Conducts weekly visits (or more depending on need) to each unit within the area of responsibility to perform walkthroughs with the GM to proactively identify maintenance issues.
• Documents and reports findings, addresses maintenance concerns not previously corrected.
• Conducts facility training days with GMs in their respective areas.
• Follows up on preventive maintenance activities.
• Develops and implements preventative maintenance programs for all major systems in the restaurant, coordinating program specifications, requirements for proposals, contracts, and associated documents.
• Maintains the integrity of all vendor documents including but not limited to certificates of insurance and licenses.
• Acts as the single point of contact for all facility issues experienced in the assigned restaurants that are not handled routinely through the use of a work-order management system.
• Maintains and monitors the work-order management system on a daily basis, identifying areas without qualified, approved vendors and soliciting and qualifying new vendors for all major trades.
• Oversees and directs maintenance personnel and workers engaged in equipment installation, facilities equipment repair, and preventive maintenance.
• Manages the upkeep of equipment and supplies to meet health and safety standards.
