Job description

A Leading Automotive Supplier near Lorain, Ohio needs a Maintenance Manager. Previous Maintenance Management Experience in an Automotive Manufacturing Plant is Required. This is a Full Time, Permanent, Direct Hire Position offering Competitive Compensation, Bonus Potential, Good Benefits, Paid Holidays and Paid Vacation.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Maintenance Manager is responsible for the operation of a department involved in the maintenance, repair or replacement of plant equipment and systems.

  • Coordinate/manage plant maintenance operations and team.
  • Oversee, manage, and request repairs, vendor repairs, supplies, services, parts, and equipment to maintain equipment and the facility in safe operating condition.
  • Implement plant-wide preventive maintenance program to ensure optimal performance and limited downtown of equipment.
  • Manage and communicate status of all equipment and facility breakdowns or repairs.
  • Manage and monitor all department ISO/IATF16969 requirements to satisfy corporate requirements.
  • Maintain documentation and record various data for the department as required.
  • Oversee the activities of the maintenance team to effectively support plant operations.
  • Identify / schedule / implement cost savings projects in conjunction with related plant departments.
  • Develop and manage systems to track MTBF (Mean Time Between Failures) and MTTR (Mean Time to Repair) to drive downtime reduction and improve equipment availability.
  • Develop and implement Facility and Maintenance CAPEX projects.
  • Develop and manage the annual maintenance budget, including labor, spare parts, services, and capital expenditures.
  • Assess, train and develop subordinates. Mentor and develop technicians across mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic disciplines.
  • Partner with production, engineering, and quality teams to improve OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness).
  • Lead or support Kaizen, Lean, Continuous Improvement and Six Sigma initiatives.
  • Responsible for related Safety Requirements.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, a related technical field, or equivalent related experience.
  • 3 to 5 years of previous Automotive Plant Maintenance Management Experience is Required.
  • Ability to communicate with all levels of personnel including Customers & Suppliers
  • Knowledgeable in Hydraulics, Pneumatics, Electrical, Stamping, Cutting, Forming, Grinding, Tool Sharpening, Milling, Machine Setup, Spark Testing, Basic Carpentry and HVAC, Electrical Repairs, Time Studies, Machine Repair and Tooling Selection.
  • Able to Read Blueprints and Machine Schematics.
  • Knowledge of ISO / IATF16949 Requirements
