Job summary

Circular Services in Jersey City, NJ is seeking a Maintenance Manager to lead maintenance systems and drive continuous improvement across our circular economy operations. This role supervises maintenance staff, coordinates with outside vendors, and steers long-term strategic plans for equipment reliability.

The Maintenance Manager will oversee preventive maintenance, manage inventories, and ensure compliance with OEM and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED were required.
  • Technical School preferred.
  • Previous supervisory skills in a diverse, fast-paced manufacturing/production environment.
  • Excellent mechanical ability and strong analytical skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to follow procedures and work from written instructions.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Must speak and understand English; Spanish speaking is a plus.
  • One year minimum mechanical repair related experience in a heavy industrial setting or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

  • Observes mechanical equipment in operation to locate causes of trouble.
  • Schedule, trains, supervise and motivate employees for maintenance tasks.
  • Coordinate work performed by outside vendors.
  • Ensure efficient repair schedules and review repair cost estimates.
  • Prioritize the maintenance and repairs of company equipment and parts.
  • Control and monitor inventory.
  • Dismantles equipment to remove and replace defective parts.
  • Adjusts functional parts of equipment and control instruments.
  • Ensure that all equipment complies with OEMs and regulatory agencies operating standards.
  • Ensures proper equipment lubrication in compliance with OEMs lubrication schedule.
  • Follows preventive maintenance works order procedures.
  • Develop familiarity with and ensure compliance with safety, health, environment and community company policies and procedures as they pertain to facility operations and equipment usage and operation.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:

Normal work environment is outdoors, with exposure to all weather conditions, dirt, high levels of noise, smells/odors and at times exposure to dangerous and/or toxic substances requiring necessary precautions, including PPE.
