Job summary

Conagra Brands is seeking a senior maintenance leader for our Michigan plant to drive reliability, reduce downtime, and optimize the Maintenance Department’s budget and strategy. You will lead a high‑performing team, collaborate with Operations, Engineering, and reliability initiatives, and ensure compliance with food safety and regulatory requirements.

The role emphasizes SAP Plant Maintenance expertise, strong leadership, and a track record of capital project oversight.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required; Engineering or a related technical field preferred.
  • 7+ years of manufacturing maintenance experience.
  • Experience leading maintenance teams in a manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of SAP Plant Maintenance, predictive maintenance technologies, programmable logic controllers, and industrial control systems.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications; CAD experience preferred.
  • Strong leadership, communication, planning, and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated success driving results through teams and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Basic accounting knowledge preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead plant maintenance operations to reduce downtime and maximize equipment efficiency and reliability.
  • Direct, coach, and develop the maintenance team while driving accountability for performance results.
  • Promote and manage safety programs throughout the Maintenance Department.
  • Promote and manage Food Safety, Quality & Regulatory Affairs and Good Manufacturing Practices requirements across the Maintenance Department.
  • Develop, manage, and operate within the established maintenance operating budget while monitoring departmental expenditures.
  • Assist in planning and developing annual and long-term capital budgets, including project cost estimates.
  • Maintain knowledge of local, state, and federal environmental regulations and ensure compliance with operational permits.
  • Establish, monitor, and improve Maintenance Department performance metrics.
  • Create systems and standards for assessing maintenance work performed by employees and contractors.
  • Manage contractor relationships and oversee services required for planned and emergency maintenance activities.
  • Monitor project execution through reports, site inspections, and collaboration with plant departments, contractors, and suppliers.
  • Participate in Reliability Center of Excellence meetings and initiatives.
  • Identify maintenance losses, develop corrective action plans, and ensure execution to eliminate recurring issues.
  • Implement and sustain Reliability Center of Excellence systems, standards, and best practices.
  • Lead SAP maintenance processes and ensure compliance with departmental standards.
  • Assess technician capabilities, identify skill gaps, and implement development plans to strengthen technical expertise.
  • Collaborate with Operations, Engineering, and cross-functional teams to improve equipment performance and operational effectiveness.

Job description

Reporting to the Plant Manager, you will lead maintenance operations across the manufacturing facility to improve equipment reliability, reduce downtime, and drive operational performance. You will manage the Maintenance Department budget, oversee maintenance strategies, and partner with Operations, Engineering, and the Reliability Center of Excellence to eliminate equipment failures and sustain equipment in base condition. You will promote a culture of safety, food safety, quality, and continuous improvement while developing a high-performing maintenance team. Ingredients Required for Your Success
  • Bachelor's degree required; Engineering or a related technical field preferred.

Physical Requirements

Compensation

Compensation Pay Range:$109,000-$159,000 The annual salary listed above is the expected offering for this position. An employee’s actual annual salary will be based on but not limited to: location, relevant experience/level and skillset, while balancing internal Conagra employees’ equity. Conagra Brands will comply with applicable law regarding minimum salaries for exempt employees.
