Job summary

Conagra Brands in Michigan is seeking an Automation Engineer to provide daily automation support to operations and facilities teams, and to execute projects that improve equipment reliability and performance.

You will develop and deliver training to strengthen automation, electrical, and instrumentation knowledge across the site, align IT/OT infrastructure with company standards, and participate in safety and compliance initiatives while providing occasional off-hours support.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, electronics, information technology, or related field preferred, or equivalent experience
  • At least 1 year of programmable logic controller programming experience
  • Knowledge of electrical principles and components such as HMIs, servo controllers, VFDs, sensors, and process instrumentation
  • Strong problem solving skills with the capability to apply engineering principles in complex situations
  • Experience in regulated manufacturing environments such as FDA, USDA, or Process Safety Management is a plus
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting safety rules, blueprints, electrical schematics, and P&IDs
  • Proficiency with standard computer programs, including email and Microsoft Office

  • Communicate effectively and collaborate across teams, including providing off-hours support as needed

Ingredients Required for Your Success

  • Knowledge of electrical principles and components such as human machine interfaces, servo controllers, variable frequency drives, sensors, and process instrumentation
  • Strong problem solving skills with the capability to apply engineering principles in complex situations
  • Experience in regulated manufacturing environments such as Food and Drug Administration, United States Department of Agriculture, or Process Safety Management is a plus
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting safety rules, blueprints, electrical schematics, and piping and instrumentation diagrams
  • Proficiency with standard computer programs, including email and Microsoft Office
Physical Requirements

When visiting these sites, the physical requirements below may apply: You may be required to walk around the facility, climb stairs/ladders, kneel, or perform repetitive tasks that require hand-eye coordination. You may be required to lift or carry materials that can vary in weight and size. This is a manufacturing environment with large, moving equipment. Noise levels can be high, and temperatures may vary.

Compensation Pay Range

Pay Range: $64,000-$95,000 The annual salary listed above is the expected offering for this position. An employee’s actual annual salary will be based on but not limited to: location, relevant experience/level and skillset, while balancing internal Conagra employees’ equity. Conagra Brands will comply with applicable law regarding minimum salaries for exempt employees.
