Job summary

  • Ensure plant safety and OSHA/TOSHA compliance.
  • Interface with Engineering and HR for capital projects and safety.
  • Oversee space planning, contracts and real estate reviews.

The Onsite Maintenance Manager coordinates, designs/engineers and directs the design, planning, construction, maintenance, safety and alteration of equipment, machinery, buildings, and other facilities by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate maintenance staff.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manages, plans, budgets, and provides leadership/direction to Maintenance, Machine Shop, and the MRO Departments. Maintains department budgets with high degree of accuracy to attain profit plan.
  • Works closely with Manufacturing and Finishing Managers to insure complete manufacturing support for maximum uptime, throughput, and profit.
  • Designs/engineers all current plant equipment and process improvement projects. Interfaces and works closely with Engineering for all new equipment/process implementation.
  • Implements and maintains a structured Preventive and Predictive Maintenance program for each production process, facility systems and all manufacturing equipment.
  • Responsible for Plant Safety; equipment and facilities compliance with TOSHA (Tennessee OSHA) regulations. Interfaces with HR Manager as lockout tag-out champion.
  • Plans, budgets, and schedules facilities modifications including cost estimates, bid sheets, layouts, and contracts for construction and acquisitions.
  • Inspects construction and installation progress of capital equipment to ensure conformance to establish specifications.
  • Reviews real estate contracts for compliance with government specifications and suitable for occupancy.
  • Oversees the coordination of building space allocations, layout, and communication services. Oversees and directs maintenance personnel and workers.
  • Ensures effective security services are maintained.
Position Supervised or Directed:

Reports directly to the Plant Manager. Maintains close contact with Engineering and Human Resources Manager.

Qualifications, Experience requirements:
  • Trade School or bachelor’s degree (BA) with 8 to 10 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Certificates, license, registration is a plus.
General Requirements:
  • Able to travel to other divisions when required.
  • Detailed and hands-on oriented.
