We are currently seeking a Maintenance Manager to join our team, based in our Bowling Green, OH location.

Working closely with the General Manager and the Production Manager, a successful Maintenance Manager directs the safe, cost-effective, and efficient operations of NuProduce’s warehouse building maintenance department. Responsibilities include troubleshooting, repairs, and preventative maintenance of mechanical and electrical systems, power equipment, automation including conveyors, hydraulic and refrigeration systems, and welding. This position also manages and supports warehouse maintenance inventory.

Essential Functions:

  • Prepares and executes department staffing plan.
  • Works with HR to interview, hire, and retain staff.
  • Maintains a documented work order system.
  • Organizes training programs for key elements such as Maximo.
  • Maintains an updated list of MHE, production, and warehouse equipment.
  • Maintains Maximo warehouse management system.
  • Collaborates with management and other department heads to plan preventive maintenance programs and schedule inspections and major overhauls in coordination with operational activities.
  • Confers with equipment manufacturers and internal resources to resolve installation and operation problems.
  • Reviews inspection and repair reports and observes progress on major overhauls to evaluate efficiency and quality.
  • Monitors and directs machinery and electrical or plumbing system repairs.
  • Prepares work schedules for the maintenance and facilities teams and expedites workflow.
  • Reviews spreadsheets related to maintenance, energy tracking, recycling, metrics, and action incentives to identify abnormalities and opportunities for improvement.
  • Ensures compliance with Process Safety Management (PSM) standards.
  • Maintains a warehouse safety culture following policies in the Operations Safety handbook and monitors safety according to OSHA standards and other regulatory standards such as EPA.
  • Works with other leaders to meet food safety standards.
  • Participates in 3rd party audits (SQF, Markon, etc.).
  • Works with the General Manager to develop AOP, manage budgets and variances, and oversee capital projects.
  • Manages warehouse projects: acquiring bids, scheduling contractors, setting timelines, and submitting paperwork.
  • Conducts departmental meetings to communicate results and initiatives.
  • Performs personnel evaluations and reviews.
  • Develops Maintenance Leadership and acts as a mentor and resource.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:

  • Ability to develop and manage budgets for labor, utilities, repairs, and building expenses.
  • Ability to develop and manage capital projects.
  • Understanding of and compliance with GFSI food safety standards.
  • Strong written and verbal communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work independently or in a team.
  • Ability to identify mechanical problems and develop solutions.
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics and blueprints (electrical, plumbing, hydraulics, refrigeration).
  • Knowledge of electrical, mechanical, HVAC, hydraulic, pneumatic functions, PLCs, and welding.
  • Ability to perceive auditory warning signals during warehouse operations.
  • Proficiency in reading blueprints and schematic drawings for electrical panels.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills for hydraulic and pneumatic components.
  • Experience in preventative and predictive maintenance of machinery and equipment.
  • Ability to work with contractors and other trades to complete projects.
  • Ability to operate tools such as grinders, saws, and perform measurements for fabricating parts.
  • Experience in assembling and replacing machinery parts.
  • Effective communication with equipment manufacturers for troubleshooting.
  • Experience with precision tools like calipers, micrometers, and gauge blocks.

Equipment / Tools / Technology:

  • Knowledge of Google Applications and internet software.
  • Familiarity with mobile technology such as iPads and apps.
  • Ability to use a digital multimeter for electrical testing.
  • Use of maintenance tools for planning, tracking, and oversight.

Minimum Years of Experience:

Five years of warehouse maintenance experience with at least two years of supervisory experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Please include your most recent employment experience in your application.
