Job summary

G.A. Richards Group in Grand Rapids seeks a seasoned Manager to oversee maintenance of facilities and equipment supporting manufacturing and related activities.

This role leads a team, coordinates with outside vendors, and drives preventive and predictive maintenance programs to minimize downtime. The position requires a college or technical degree and at least a decade of leadership experience within maintenance, with expertise in electrical, CNC, HVAC, and related systems.

Qualifications

• College or technical school degree required.
• Ten years of relevant work experience including leadership.
• Experience supervising multiple maintenance personnel.

Responsibilities

• Oversee outside vendors; obtain quotes, schedule, negotiate, and execute projects to completion.
• Direct facilities maintenance (electrical, plumbing, roofing, lawn care, snowplowing).
• Direct manufacturing maintenance; review and direct preventive/predictive maintenance programs and machine repairs.
• Assist staff with complex equipment problems or major equipment failures.
• Set response times for maintenance calls and establish priorities.
• Lead and coach maintenance staff to ensure proper care of facility.
• Document work orders and prioritize maintenance team activity.
• Advise leadership on maintenance issues.
• Other duties may be assigned.

Pay Range: $75,000 - $100,000

SUMMARY

Manager responsible for the oversight and execution of maintaining and repairing the facility and equipment that used to support manufacturing and other subsequent activities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Manage outside vendors; getting quotes and scheduling, negotiating and executing projects to completion.
• Direct facilities maintenance such as; electrical, plumbing, roofing, lawn care, snowplowing, etc.
• Directing manufacturing maintenance such as; reviewing and directing equipment preventive/predictive maintenance programs, machine repairs.
• Assist staff with complex equipment problems or with major equipment failures, repairs or overhauls.
• Establish means of responding to maintenance calls and set call/project priorities.
• Leading and coaching other fellow associates to execute operator based maintenance and proper care of the facility.
• Documenting work orders and prioritizing the activity of the maintenance team.
• Advising the leadership team as necessary.
• Other duties may be assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Supervise equipment mechanics, shop personnel, electricians, electronic technicians, maintenance welders, carpenters, plant janitor service, and other production-support maintenance personnel.

Requirements

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

College or technical school and/or (10) years of relevant work experience including experience in a leadership role.
