Job summary

BlackRock Resources is seeking a Maintenance Manager for a growing food manufacturing operation in the Auburn, Alabama area. This hands-on leader will build strong teams, improve equipment reliability, reduce downtime, and partner with Operations to keep a fast-paced production environment running at its best.

You will lead the maintenance team, drive preventive and predictive maintenance, oversee repairs and upgrades, and ensure safety, GMPs, and food manufacturing standards are met.

Qualifications

• 7–10+ years of progressive maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Previous Maintenance Manager, Maintenance Supervisor, or similar leadership experience.
• Food or beverage manufacturing experience strongly preferred.
• Strong hands-on knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems.
• Experience with PLCs and automated production equipment.
• Working knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, refrigeration, boilers, and plant utilities.
• Knowledge of GMPs and food manufacturing practices.

Responsibilities

• Lead the day-to-day activities of the plant maintenance team.
• Drive preventive and predictive maintenance programs to improve equipment reliability and uptime.
• Prioritize breakdowns, work orders, planned maintenance, and equipment repairs.
• Lead equipment rebuilds, installations, maintenance projects, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Partner closely with Operations to improve productivity, reliability, and overall plant performance.
• Support Operator Driven Reliability (ODR) and Autonomous Maintenance (AM) initiatives.
• Provide technical leadership for electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, refrigeration, boiler, PLC, and controls-related issues.
• Manage maintenance parts, critical spares, and inventory.
• Coach, train, develop, and evaluate maintenance team members.
• Identify recurring equipment issues and implement long-term corrective actions.
• Ensure maintenance work is completed safely and in accordance with company policies, GMPs, and food manufacturing standards.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, blueprints, and technical documentation.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

• Experience with PLCs and automated production equipment
• Working knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, refrigeration, boilers, and plant utilities
• Strong preventive and predictive maintenance background
• Experience improving equipment reliability and reducing unplanned downtime
• Knowledge of GMPs and food manufacturing practices
• Strong leadership, troubleshooting, communication, and problem-solving skills
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field preferred

COMPENSATION

$120,000–$130,000 annually
