Job summary

Archer Meat Snacks is seeking an Industrial Maintenance Technician to perform maintenance, repair, and installation of mechanical and electrical systems in a food processing plant. The role includes troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and documentation in CMMS to keep production equipment reliable and compliant with safety standards.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years in manufacturing maintenance, knowledge of electrical systems, and experience with packaging equipment.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • 3+ years of maintenance experience in manufacturing.
  • Basic to advanced electrical knowledge.
  • Experience with packaging equipment (scale, case sealer, band sealers).
  • Ability to read blueprints and schematics.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventative maintenance on equipment and document in CMMS.
  • Repair and replace parts, fabricate components as needed.
  • Troubleshoot equipment failures with minimal supervision.
  • Work on refrigeration components and compressors as required.
  • Follow safety procedures and SOPs, GMPs and SQF standards.
  • Maintain equipment to improve OEE and reliability.

Job description

Position Summary

Perform all tasks involved in the maintenance, repair and installation of industrial machinery, refrigeration, electrical and mechanical systems in a food processing plant. Ensure that all production equipment is maintained and in proper operating order. Troubleshoot equipment and machinery failures or problems and take corrective action with minimal supervision. Performs preventive maintenance on equipment and machinery and documents using the CMMS system. Repairs and/or replaces parts as needed, including fabricating parts on lathes and milling machines, welding or soldering as required for the job. Works on refrigeration components and starts compressors as required. Uses a variety of hand and power tools, saws, and welding equipment. Proactively looks for ways to improve the equipment and procedures to help achieve OEE and reliability goals.

Key Responsibilities

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Responsible for execution of Preventative Maintenance Duties.
  • Responsible for repair of equipment per written Maintenance procedures.
  • Repair most manufacturing and facility equipment.
  • Assesses problems with minimal guidance and supervision.
  • Interprets blueprints and schematics.
  • Understands electrical wiring and basic PLC, VFD and motor control.
  • Follows Lock Out Tag Out Procedures prior to doing any work on equipment.
  • Experience with Packaging Equipment (scale, case sealer, band sealers, etc.).
  • Perform and document preventive maintenance.
  • Use standard hand tools as well as specialized tools needed to perform job safely.
  • Promote a safety culture by following safe practices and seeking improvement opportunities for plant safety.
  • Completes documents as required by department guidelines.
  • Complies with all SOP’s, GMP's and SQF standards.
  • Responsible for executing all duties assigned by Management.
Qualifications
Education
  • High School Graduate or GED.
Experience
  • Must have 3+ years of maintenance experience in manufacturing.
  • Must have basic to advanced electrical knowledge.

Physical Requirements
  • This role requires frequent presence on the production floor and may involve exposure to noise, temperature fluctuations, and other manufacturing conditions.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Requires the ability to walk, stand, bend, stoop, and reach.
  • Visual acuity requirements include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and depth perception, particularly for work with computers and troubleshooting equipment.
