Job summary

North American Stamping Group is seeking an Electrical Controls Technician to troubleshoot, program, maintain, and improve automated manufacturing equipment in Paulding, Ohio.

The ideal candidate has a strong background in industrial automation and electrical troubleshooting within a manufacturing environment, with 4+ years of experience and experience with Allen-Bradley controls. The role offers a 1st shift (7:00 AM - 3:30 PM) and a $1,500 retention bonus is available.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 4 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Automotive manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Experience supporting automated production equipment.
  • Industrial electrical troubleshooting experience.
  • Experience reading electrical schematics and prints.
  • Experience with PLCs and Allen-Bradley controls.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and repair PLC, robotic, weld, and automated production equipment.
  • Diagnose electrical, controls, and automation issues to minimize downtime.
  • Perform PLC programming modifications and support system improvements.
  • Troubleshoot industrial networks, sensors, drives, and vision systems.
  • Maintain preventative and predictive maintenance programs.
  • Support production teams in achieving safety, quality, and productivity goals.
  • Assist with equipment installations, upgrades, and continuous improvement projects.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance documentation and records.

North American Stamping Group is expanding and looking for an experienced

Electrical Controls Technician to join our team in Paulding, Ohio.

This position is responsible for troubleshooting, programming, maintaining, and improving automated manufacturing equipment, robotics, PLC-controlled systems, weld equipment, and related electrical systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in industrial automation, controls, and electrical troubleshooting within a manufacturing environment.

Shift: 1 st Shift Available (7:00 AM - 3:30 PM)

  • Competitive compensation offered. Starting pay is based on experience, skills, and qualifications, with the opportunity for higher earnings for candidates with advanced experience.

The Electrical Controls Technician reports to the Maintenance Manager and plays a critical role in ensuring production equipment operates safely, efficiently, and reliably. This position supports continuous improvement initiatives while minimizing downtime through preventative and predictive maintenance practices.

Required Experience

  • Minimum 4 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Automotive manufacturing experience preferred
  • Experience supporting automated production equipment
  • Industrial electrical troubleshooting experience

Required Skills

  • Strong knowledge of industrial electrical systems
  • Experience troubleshooting and programming PLCs
  • Experience with Allen-Bradley controls and RSLogix/Studio 5000
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and prints
  • Experience with industrial automation equipment and robotics
  • Knowledge of vision systems such as Keyence and Cognex
  • Experience installing, troubleshooting, and repairing industrial wiring and electrical hardware
  • Knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics
  • Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills
  • Computer proficiency
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Understanding of OSHA safety requirements

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with robotic MIG welding and resistance welding systems
  • Fanuc robot programming and troubleshooting experience
  • Associate degree in Industrial Maintenance, Electrical Technology, Mechatronics, or related field

Essential Job Functions

  • Troubleshoot and repair PLC, robotic, weld, and automated production equipment
  • Diagnose electrical, controls, and automation issues to minimize downtime
  • Perform PLC programming modifications and support system improvements
  • Troubleshoot industrial networks, sensors, drives, and vision systems
  • Maintain preventative and predictive maintenance programs

  • Order and maintain inventory of maintenance parts and supplies
  • Ensure maintenance work orders are completed in a timely manner
  • Work with outside contractors and vendors as required
  • Participate in training and development activities
  • Support IATF/quality system requirements as needed
  • Work weekends and overtime as required

Education

  • Associate Degree in Industrial Maintenance, Electrical Technology, Mechatronics, or related field preferred
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Automotive manufacturing environment
  • Exposure to heat, cold, dust, and other manufacturing conditions
  • PPE required, including safety glasses, steel-toed footwear, hearing protection, and other equipment as required

Physical Requirements

  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and reaching
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally
  • Ability to work around industrial equipment and at varying heights
  • Ability to distinguish colors for electrical troubleshooting and wiring applications
