Summary

Maintains and repairs physical structures of buildings, machines, equipment, autos, and lifts. Maintains grounds by performing the following duties:

Duties

  1. Receive written work orders or verbal instructions from Operations Manager.
  2. Coordinate and/or operate snow removal equipment to maintain parking lots and sidewalks.
  3. Maintain and repair buildings' plumbing and electrical systems, air compressor, heating and cooling units, including replacing worn or defective parts such as filters, switches and fuses.
  4. Complete minor repairs and replace worn or damaged parts such as hoses, wiring, and belts in machines and equipment like auto baggers, label machines, floor scrubbers, forklifts, and mowers.
  5. Contact and obtain cost estimates from external contractors.
  6. Assist other departments with moving furniture and unloading and storing supplies.
  7. Coordinate all maintenance requests of internal customers to be completed in a timely manner.
  8. Update Operations Manager on concerns, issues, and the status of the maintenance department.
  9. Adhere to departmental budget and goals set by management.
  10. Coordinate industrial truck training.
  11. Develop drawings/layouts for projects given by Operations Manager or Director of Operations.
  12. Assist with coordinating outside facilities projects (e.g., moving warehouses).
  13. Train incoming Maintenance Associates.
  14. Travel to other facilities to assist with projects when needed.
  15. Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and Qualifications

One-year certificate from college or technical school; or a minimum of one-year related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Must be able to obtain an industrial truck certification. Basic knowledge of computer systems is preferred.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and use hands. Frequently required to walk, sit, and reach with hands and arms. Occasionally required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Must regularly lift and/or move up to 35 pounds, frequently up to 50 pounds, and occasionally up to 75 pounds. Vision abilities include close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Working Conditions

Frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts; occasionally exposed to high, precarious places and outside weather conditions. Noise level is usually moderate.
