Job summary

Kerry Group in Evansville, IN is seeking a Maintenance Level 2 Night Shift to keep our plant operating safely and efficiently. You will troubleshoot and repair equipment, perform preventive maintenance, assist with installations, and support production teams across the site.

Qualifications

• Two-year degree in industrial technology preferred; equivalent experience considered.
• Experience with mechanical repair, welding, and electrical troubleshooting.

• Willingness to learn new skills and share knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance per Kerry and manufacturer specs.
• Troubleshoot, repair, inspect, and adjust plant machinery and equipment.
• Use hand tools, power tools, welders, drill presses, grinders and cutting tools safely.
• Assist with new equipment installations and building/grounds maintenance.
• Document work, labor hours, repairs, and work orders in SAP.
• Learn production processes to provide timely support to production staff.
• Recommend preventive maintenance improvements and durable solutions.
• Communicate safety and maintenance concerns to prevent hazards.
• Operate forklifts and aerial lifts as needed and support storeroom.
• Build positive relationships with coworkers, contractors and vendors.
• Provide break relief and complete tasks on time.
• Follow Kerry safety, GMP, EPA, Hazmat and OSHA requirements.

Compensation Data

The pay rate for this position is $31.00 per hour . What You’ll Do

2nd Shift is 2 pm to 10:30 pm M-F

Maintenance Bonus $2500 sign on bonus $250 after two weeks no attendance issues. $2250 after 120 days.

We are seeking a hands-on Maintenance Level 2 team member to help keep our Evansville facility operating safely, reliably, and efficiently. In this role, you will support the Maintenance Supervisor by troubleshooting and repairing plant equipment, completing preventive maintenance, assisting with equipment installations, and maintaining facility systems and grounds. You will work closely with production employees, contractors, vendors, and site leadership while supporting Kerry’s safety, quality, food safety, and continuous improvement standards.

• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance in accordance with Kerry and manufacturer specifications.
• Troubleshoot, repair, inspect, and adjust plant machinery and equipment, including mixers, conveyors, compressors, pumps, bearings, sprockets, and chains.
• Use hand tools, power tools, welders, drill presses, grinders, cutting equipment, and other metalworking equipment safely and effectively.
• Assist with new equipment installations, facility repairs, building maintenance, and grounds maintenance.
• Document completed work, labor hours, repair details, installations, notifications, and work orders accurately in SAP.
• Learn production processes and equipment to provide timely support to production employees.
• Recommend equipment or procedures for preventive maintenance programs and help identify lasting solutions to recurring maintenance issues.
• Communicate safety, health, equipment, and maintenance concerns that could create hazards or operational downtime.
• Maintain department housekeeping and plant sanitation at or above company and regulatory standards.
• Participate in predictive maintenance, continuous improvement, process improvement, and Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point activities.
• Operate forklifts and aerial lifts and assist in the parts storeroom as needed.
• Build positive working relationships with coworkers, contractors, vendors, suppliers, and plant visitors.
• Provide break relief to other maintenance employees when needed and complete assigned work accurately and on time.
• Follow all Kerry safety, quality, food safety, Good Manufacturing Practices, EPA, Hazmat, and OSHA requirements.

What You’ll Need To Succeed

• A two-year degree in industrial technology or advanced manufacturing is preferred; equivalent experience will also be considered.
• Experience with mechanical repair, general welding, and minor electrical troubleshooting.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex problems independently or collaboratively and develop logical solutions.
• Ability to prioritize work and seek guidance from supervisors or management when needed.
• Ability to work independently while maintaining close cooperation with production personnel.
• Willingness to learn new skills, share knowledge with teammates, and contribute positively when priorities change.
• Ability to use company computers and software applications in accordance with company policy.
• Regular, punctual attendance and a consistent on-site presence.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements

This position works in a manufacturing environment that may include high noise levels, wet floors, steam-related burn hazards, and changing indoor and outdoor temperatures ranging from below 0°F to above 100°F. The role requires frequent climbing, crawling, bending, twisting, ladder and manlift use, and occasional work at heights above 20 feet. Vessel entry and work in confined spaces may be required. Employees must be able to regularly lift 25 pounds, occasionally lift 50 pounds, lift long or heavy materials overhead, operate hand tools, and apply the force needed to use wrenches, hammers, pry bars, and similar equipment. Close, distance, and color vision, the ability to adjust focus, and sufficient hearing to help diagnose equipment issues are also required.
